Oh, so because Obamalama is so bad, we should just automatically embrace the GOP candidate? Who is the fool? YOU. The GOP needs to figure out to put up candidates that are conservative candidates. Until they figure this out, I'm not a member.

Its the GOP's issue if they cannot win against Obamalama .. he's been a terrible president .. and to be even at this point in polls is just as horrible.

I don't have to point out Obamalama's issues - others have done this here.

I'm voting for Johnson ... you can vote for Willard if you choose but then you are just saying "good job GOP, continue on with putting up candidates that can't win!"

Until you can back up your lies about me, I will assume you are doing nothing more than sucking Obama's dick and enjoying it will all your heart. I have said nothing about who I am supporting in any posts here or on other boards I visit.

My intent and purpose in not voting for Romney is to withhold my consent to the whole structure.
I not only understand I feel much the same as you.

By providing only two choices, you are falsely omitting other legitimate options.
Again I understand what you're saying. But it's not me personally that is limiting us to two choices. In the end it's the voters.
It is just plain false to say that a vote for Johnson or no vote is a vote for Obama.
We'll just have to agree to disagree. But any vote for anyone but Romney, as much as it may turn your/my stomach, is in fact helping Odumbo stay in office.
Again, I don't like that anymore than you do. I wish Johnson, Paul or any number of others had a prayer of winning. I'd vote for any of them in a second.
But until the voters are ready in very large numbers to help elect someone else. A vote for them is I'm afraid in the real world a vote for Obama.
I'm just being realistic and pragmatic.

We share more in common here than what I think you're giving us credit for.

I don't care two shites about beating Obama. I care about the best man winning.

I could never ally myself with someone of Romney's character.

Your delusion of how 4 more years of Obama will bring devastation is simply fear mongering.
The elephant/donkey tag-team have been inflicting us for years. Thanks for enabling it by playing party politics without regard to our country's well being.
Even if we don't completely agree I do applaud you having the principles to vote other than the two realistic choices we've been given.
We need a lot more of it. Unfortunately a whole lot more of it before it does us any good.

I just had to congratulate myself on not being the worst idiot "in the room" during a political debate.

Well, good luck with that! Double that 4% and it's still not a winning number. What is it you can't understand about that?

Perhaps not, but you apparently can rationalize supporting another 4 years of Obama by voting for the spoiler.

My delusion?? I don't believe that any candidate that lacks national name recognition - a relative unknown outside of his home state - can win a presidential election. You would stand as good a chance.

I didn't begin the two-party system, so I can't take the blame for that any more than you should. I don't play "party politics", either - I am proud to be an Independent. You know absolutely nothing about me, so you can keep your snide remarks to yourself. I spent more than 20 years defending our country's "well-being". What I DO play is reality politics, and, as much as you may hate the idea (and I'm not crazy about it, either), one of two people will be our next president - the incumbent, or Romney. Your plan will only hurt the challenger, thereby putting Obummer one vote closer to winning. I also believe Johnson would be the best choice, but I'd rather unseat Obummer than follow my instincts on something this important - and Johnson can't do that.

"A" may be true, but "B" sounds like View attachment 9272to me. Everybody has voted against something at some time. Combined, those two sentences make you sound like a closet socialist.

I hear people on the left say "a vote for a third party is a vote for Romney". I hear people like you say the opposite.
The incumbent always -
ALWAYS - has an edge over the challenger. Apparently even when the incumbent has proven himself to be absolutely ineffective. You can't take votes away from Obummer - the indolent, the socialists and the illegal aliens are bound to him by their own self-serving desires.

Know what the truth is? A vote for a candidate is a vote for a candidate, and a vote for a third party tells the other two that Obamney doesn't cut it.
The truth is that at least ONE of the other two party's don't give a ragged red rat's ass about that insignificant 3-4%, other than it took votes from their opponent, and gave them the election.

If you can't man up and vote for what is right, you should shut up and leave those of us who are capable of doing so alone.
In this particular instance, our country will be the loser when you "vote for what is right". And you should pull your head out, stop telling people you don't agree with to "shut up", and then KMA.

Polls showing pretty solid lead for Obama.

I think Obama is going to win.

Back to my stategic plan for America.......time to get started and focus on lower seats like state legislatures and US house seats for Libertarian candidate.

Stop the silly efforts for Gary Johnson and start building a base with candidates who can win lower seats.

You don't see the irony?
I do as a matter of fact. I also see that our next President WILL be either Romney or Odumbo PERIOD.

I DON'T like it, but I can't wish it away either. Again, I agree with you guys more than I'm getting credit for. But I'm a realistic pragmatist as well.

This is just a too-obvious attempt to mis-assign causation. It is responsibility painted as blame.

The first person responsible for Obama remaining in office is Obama himself. He and he alone determines whether he will run for office a second time. He and he alone determines which bills he will sign into law, what the policies of his administration will be.

Furthermore, those who try to persuade others to vote for Rombama in order to avoid Obamney completely violate the fundamental reason for the vote. Lets go back to basics. Why have a constitution? To limit government, to avoid tyranny. That's the only reason. If one doesn't want to limit government, don't waste time getting a constitution written and ratified. Just select the emporer and tell him to get on with it. Why have a republic? To diffuse power. Why diffuse power? Same reason as having a constitution--to limit government, to avoid tyranny. How many different Founders said or wrote that the safest repository of power was the people themselves? Aha! Now we're coming to it. The only frickin' reason for the vote is to avoid tyranny.

But, these people who insist and pester to vote for Romney are frigging insisting that I vote for tyranny. No. No. NO!!!

And, this nonsense about not voting for Rombama being a vote for Obamney is just an absurd attempt to persuade myself and others to vote for tyranny. HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...But the sad unavoidable cold harsh reality is, a vote for anyone other than Romney IS for all intents and purposes a vote for Obama....

If it takes an Obama win to show the Republicans that they need to return to conservatism in order to represent us, then so be it.

A vote for Romney is a vote for the big picture status quo.

There are three possibilities for this election.

1. Obama beats Romney, with insignificant third-party action.
2. Obama beats Romney by a bigger margin (perhaps even with less than 50%), but with major third-party action.
3. Romney beats Obama, with zero third-party action, and a few other miracles.

Now, which of these three possibilities is better in the long run?

I agree ... the GOP has no path its following right now. Tea-partiers were considered like the black plague but some have won office...quite an accomplishment for such a young party. One must admit that.

Enough bold, italics, etc in there (plus, "Obummer", really?) to make me question your present sanity.

I don't vote against a candidate, that's a fact, regardless of how you view it. If neither of the "two people [who] will be our next president" are worth voting FOR, I'm not voting for them. Scare tactics about "but Obama is bad, you need to unseat him" mean nothing to me.

To quote book 4 of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy:
Ford explained, “On [that] world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people.”

“Odd,” said Arthur, “I thought you said it was a democracy.”

“I did,” said ford. “It is.”

“So,” said Arthur, hoping he wasn’t sounding ridiculously obtuse, “why don’t the people get rid of the lizards?”

“It honestly doesn’t occur to them,” said Ford. “They’ve all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they’ve voted in more or less approximates to the government they want.”

“You mean they actually vote for the lizards?”

“Oh yes,” said Ford with a shrug, “of course.”

“But,” said Arthur, going for the big one again, “why?”

“Because if they didn’t vote for a lizard,” said Ford, “the wrong lizard might get in.

You're complaining that I should vote for another lizard, else the wrong lizard might win. I refuse to vote for lizards.

Actually I believe I stated earlier that it's not my place to try and tell others how to vote. I'm certainly not trying to pester anyone into voting with me.
I even applauded a member who like yourself is not voting for either party.

I think you have that the wrong way around~~I have been called stupid, idiot, and gay for supporting Romney by the Paul Bots and Small Johnson supporters on this site. And this has gone on for some time. The anarchists on here have been less than understanding of others voting privilege.

Why would somebody call you gay for supporting Romney? That makes no sense. Sure, he's a terrible flip-flopper of a politician who would sell your rights to the highest bidder, but that only supports you being stupid or an idiot if you vote for him. His record for gays is bad enough that any person calling you "gay" for supporting Romney is, themselves, idiotic.
