It depends, Primus, In Texas we've had officers prosecuted for 'regular' (and serious) crimes for the assaultive rights violations, such as sexual assault.

So, Primus... Essentially what we're looking at here is that, when cops perform "illegal searches" or other rights violations, the violations of law are actually obvious. It doesn't take a "special" statute to make it illegal for a cop to do. The regular statutes that apply to everyone else work just fine. Would it be illegal for ME to go do? Then, it would also be illegal for a COP to go do, with the exceptions of having RAS or PC or a warrant, etc. Essentially, people carry a misconception that the "regular" laws somehow don't apply to cops. They do. If you stick your hand down my pants, that's sexual assault sir, same as if some random guy on the street did the same thing.

That being said, there are also statutes such as the official oppression statute:

Sec. 39.03. OFFICIAL OPPRESSION.

This thread has become a total trainwreck of off topic posts. The Op set the standard for the thread and few to none have honored that.

Negative discussion about the applicable laws being followed or not and who knows what should never have been posted here under the circumstance.

Locking it.
