Lets get back on track here. The actual topic of this thread is not the Lansing event. The topic is "Locked Threads and Freedom" not "come here to bitch and moan about members."

I was about to post in the Ponderosa thread when I realized that it was locked. I'm curious as to how an organization dedicated to defending individual liberty reconciles the locking of threads and the advocacy of freedom of firearms? WaltherP99 had clearly just proven, Q.E.D., his point and after that the thread was immediately locked. I think there is a lot of apologizing that needs to be done after all the insults that were hurled at him. He proved his point and his freedom was denied.
Either you support freedom or you do not. Either you support civility and mutual respect, or you do not.

Should threads be locked on a site dedicated to defending individual liberty?"
Let me be the first to welcome you to the internet. You must be new around these parts. Let me explain a few things so you can get the lay of the land.
First let me explain how the internet works, you are connecting from your computer through a series of tubes that connect you to a server owned or leased by another individual. While it may appear that these forums are a "public" venue they are in fact provided by an individual or group of individuals for use by people they allow access. The owners of the servers retain the same rights as private property owners, as others have pointed out to you. When you become a member you agree to be bound to the rules and regulations of said owners. Unless the site in question is owned by an openly traded company where you own stock in said company, or you are a partner or are required to provide membership "dues" for access, you have no legal or financial ownership of anything on that site. In a message board such as this you do not own the text that you submit. When you "submit" your post it becomes the property of the person or persons that owns said server. Those owners may use the data for any means they see fit. This information can be used up to the extent provided in the terms of service or user privacy guidelines. If allowed by said guidelines they could sell your information to an ad agency, provide your information to government authorities, or even delete your information if they see fit. While its stated in the rules "you own your words" multiple courts have found that the owners/operators of a website are responsible for its content.
By your definition you should be able to post porn and they cant do anything about it, (especially since there is nothing in the rules) try it lets see how long you last.
Second, when becoming the member of this site you agreed to abide by the rules set forth by the owners. There is nothing requiring you to stay on this site. If you dont agree with the rules or the way things are ran BY THE OWNERS then you can take your buisness (or lack of) elsewhere. Here's a tip pressing this combo of keys <ALT>+ <F4> will allow you to easily leave. Of course there is also the back button, the X, and even file-close, take your pick, theres lots of options.
If you cant abide by the rules here on the internet, how is your abiding by the rules in real life going? Continual disregard of the easy rules here makes some of us question your ability to follow the more difficult rules of gun ownership.
