(1) For conduct not amounting to a violation of chapter 9A.36 RCW, any person who:

(a) Aims any firearm, whether loaded or not, at or towards any human being;

Just pointing out here that muzzle sweeping does not in itself violate the law. Sure it's stupid to disregard your muzzle but according to the law you must AIM the gun at a person. Aiming involves using hand-eye coordination. Simply having it slung improperly does not mean the same thing as aiming. To aim is to be ready to fire.

Yes we should tell people they're doing it wrong. But do it in a nice way. It will be received better. Do you think I was an idiot for carrying my rifle at the rally? Muzzle down, unloaded and action open like was requested. I was prepared to use it though, I had my mags in my inside coat pockets. Stop painting with such a broad brush, you're missing all the details and the details are important.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Actually reading the law with an eye towards comprehension...

I carried that exact same way.

Answer, no I do not think you are an idiot.

I get a tad upset when guns are pointed at me, and a little more so when someone seemingly dismisses the concern..... I over reacted to a comment by someone else......
