Not at all. I wear empty holster almost every time I attend anything that requires me going to a school. I stop just off school property, unload and lock the firearm away, and then proceed to the school. Likewise when I leave, I stop just off school property (well, at my son's school the nearest safe place to pull over is about 1/4 mile away) and reload.

I'm voting tomorrow at the Jeffersonton, VA Ruritan facility and Post office. I'm just a bit nervous about OCing, because I want to cast my vote, not go to jail to make a point. Any counsel?

In regards to your link....99% of the votes were a Yes from Republicans and Democrats. It was political suicide at that point to say No. Now 1/2 of those Yays have become Nays due to hindsight. Okay, how about this....he may not be antiwar under ALL circumstances....just most. Whether that deems him the title anti-war...whatever. His campaign, his supporters and the media have deemed him to be antiwar and for the most part he was (most of his votes). The aura that is campaign created was that of being antiwar regardless of whether or not he ever said that he was. Just like Obama promotes the aura of being for high taxes, antigun and a Socialist. But you won't find any of that on his website. THATS FOR DAMN SURE.
How many murders and thefts derived from alcohol? Or more appropriatly, how many murders and thefts derived from alcohol PROHIBITION? Prohibition created gangs. The murders and thefts are largely due to the fact that they are illegal. Just because you oppose government intervention in something doesn't mean you support it. I would expect a leftist or statist to not know that, but I expect more out of liberty minded people.
Believing that we shouldn't have our military spread out in 130 different countries is not being "antiwar" (I hate that term... Who really desires to go to war?). He doesn't believe in interering with foriegn governments. He actually reads things like the 9/11 commision report and what the CIA says about blowback.

Starbucks and Ben and Jerrys are giving away free coffee and ice cream for voting. I'll be open carrying at both!

Voting with an empty holster in plain view.... no better way to advertise that you most likely could have left a firearm in your car. Just imagine the possibilities if somebody observes you walking into the voting location and knows what car you got out of.

what a non-event. It was raining so I cc'd my holster outside for an hour in the rain. Then a poll worker walked along the line looking for people with last names of A-C. That was me, so I got to jump out of line, walk inside get my ballot and vote about as fast as I wrote this sentance. Lots of obamaniacs and a few partyline dems :(

Same here, but I have to leave it because it's a school.

Then again, MY definition of "walking distance" is a bit farther than some of yours. :D

No carry today. Heck kept checking myself over and over to make sure I had nothing illegal as my polling place was a school. Although my VCDL hat had a picture of a guy with a gun on it.

Voted in school with empty hoster, two empty mag cases and used CHP as my ID. Only got a slight double take and then all went as it should, confirmed name & address, given ballot & voted.

I used my CHP as well for ID. One lady asked the other as she looked wide-eye at me if it was valid. The other said it was state issued, so it counts. On with the show.
