As long as all firearms were purchased trough an FFL and resold through one I fail to see the problem?

As for me, I would take them to next months Spokane Gun Show. Would be easy to sell... That show is going to be a zoo.

Mary, and Mary's Pisols made the News Tribune today. There's some great quotes from Mary.

Tacoma, WA - November 15, 2008

DEAN J. KOEPFLER/THE NEWS TRIBUNE
While Josh Pebley of Tacoma fills out paperwork Friday for the purchase of a Waser 10 semi-automatic rifle at Mary’s Pistols in South Tacoma, a friend looks at shotguns with the help of store owner Mary Davies.

Fears drive gun buyers to stock up

IAN DEMSKY; ian.demsky@thenewstribune.com Published: November 15th, 2008 12:04 AM

Since the Nov. 4 election, Mary Davies says her business has tripled.

The phone rings constantly and customers of the small South Tacoma gun shop have at times been backed up into the hallway, she said this week.

The boom Mary’s Pistols has been seeing has been reported all over the country as buyers stock up on handguns, assault rifles and high-capacity clips that they’re concerned might be banned by an Obama administration and a more heavily Democratic Congress.

No nationwide figures on post-election gun sales were available, but a look at local figures comparing fall 2007 to fall 2008 shows an uptick in some categories, bolstering the anecdotal evidence.

Pistol sales in Washington during August, September and October rose by 20 percent compared to last year, according to the state Department of Licensing. And the Washington State Patrol has seen a 43 percent jump in background checks the agency has conducted for concealed pistol licenses when comparing September, October and November of last year to this year – and that number is likely to go even higher because data were only available through Nov. 13 this year.

When a reporter visited Mary’s on Thursday afternoon, several customers were discussing how President-elect Barack Obama might want to tax ammunition.

Davies said business had been steady in the months leading up to the election and that the “summer doldrums” failed to materialize this year. But sales started jumping after the election, she said.

“It’s been quite nerve-wracking, actually,” Davies said. “It’s so much work. There are a lot of forms you have to fill out and hoops to jump through.”

A pistol purchase for example, requires a lengthy federal form, plus a state form, and has to be entered into a logbook.

“Guns are the most tightly controlled substance on the planet,” said her husband, Dan Davies.

The shop usually has 350 guns on display, but on Thursday Davies’ stock was down to 265.

Davies, who worked at her parents’ gun shop before opening her own store three years ago, is worried that new restrictions could put her out of business.

“I had customers come in with Obama T-shirts to get their guns before the laws change,” she said. “They say, ‘I like his economic policies.’ I tell them, ‘It may be your gun, but it’s my job.’”

Other local gun stores, such as Bull’s Eye, Welcher’s and Gun & Bow in Tacoma and Marksman Gun Shop in Puyallup either didn’t return calls seeking comment or declined to comment.

Obama’s record on gun rights is conflicting enough to give ammunition to either side, the Chicago Tribune reported. He sought to reassure gun owners during the campaign, promising he wasn’t going to take away citizens’ rifles, shotguns and handguns. But as an Illinois state legislator, he voted in favor of a ban on semi-automatic assault weapons and tighter restrictions on all firearms. He has also opposed allowing gun owners to carry concealed weapons.

His mention of guns during his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention might signal it’s a high priority for him, Davies said.

“The reality of gun ownership may be different for hunters in rural Ohio than for those plagued by gang violence in Cleveland, but don’t tell me we can’t uphold the Second Amendment while keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals,” Obama said in his Aug. 28 speech. But many gun owners see gun restrictions hampering the rights of law-abiding citizens while criminals would just continue to flout the laws.

Davies has had to tell some customers seeking military look-alike rifles that her distributors are sold out and that there’s a six- to eight-month wait from the factory.

“I tell them they can order it but they may not get it if they’re outlawed right when they get in,” she said. She said the only real difference between a U.S. military-style rifle that she was holding and a semi-automatic hunting rifle is how it looks.

The fact that Vice President-elect Joe Biden was an architect of an earlier assault rifle ban that has since expired only adds to Davies’ concerns. The ban made “evil-looking” weapons illegal.

“I don’t know how they call this evil,” she said holding up the rifle. “Every one of our soldiers has one of these.”

They seemed to have plenty of 7.62x39, I think it was $5 a box.

I was in Bullseye earlier and they had the same EOTech sightI bought from Mary -for $110 more than I paid. I like it when that happens!

My "Delay" cleared and my "new" WASR-10 is safe and secure in my Safe.

I headed up to Sportsmans Warehouse in Burlington, where I found Wolf 7.62x39 for $5.39/boxwith a 10% discount for more than 10 boxes. Federal was $12.99/box! (OUCH!).

Now to figure out what parts are Import and which parts are US Compliance Parts and take the thing out and test it.

In a desperate attempt to drag this back on topic, let me mention that I’ll be stopping by Mary’s this afternoon to return Dan’s bore-sighter and see what, if anything, is left. I was at Sportsman’s in Fed Way earlier and the .223 is mostly gone. I completely forgot to look at the black rifle section to see if there were any darkening the racks, sorry.

I don't have anything that uses .223 but I came across this:

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/AMM269-1.html

They're saying they still have a supply, but limited. If you're still looking, maybe this will help :)

I went with a Del-Ton 16in M4 upper with the 1/9 chrome lined barrel.

I have seen the beowulf quite a few times, and if I had loose money I probably would pick one up just for kicks eventually.

The .450 bushmaster upper is another upper that looks fantastic.

To Richard6218. Yeah the ammo in that link comes on stripper clips. But that ammo after shipping is around 80+ cents per round... That is 2x - 3x more than you should be paying for .223... Yeah it is running low on the really good deal sights, but you can still pick up the 200 round bulk packs at walmart for 72-74 bucks (40 cents per round after tax).

OR

For people with Cabela's near by. Go to their website and get the coupon code for the $30.00 off any purchase of $150.00 or more. Go toa store where they are running a 74.99 for 200 pack deal. Buy something else with it that costs more than .02 to get over 150.00 than take 30 bucks off. 400 rounds for 120.00 before tax or 30 cents per round.

Well like I said I don't have anything that uses .223 --- I'm mostly a pistol guy --- but I'll be cautious when looking for my stuff. Just thought this might be of use .....

Well, I don’t know what it is with me and Cabela’s but they told me yet again today that OC isn’t allowed in the store. I was told that I had to check my gun. I said, no, I didn’t. This was from four employees all standing at the front doors. I asked for the manager and when he came up he set them straight. Right then, one of the girls that had been standing there chimed in that she knew it was allowed. Funny, she didn’t say a word while I was standing there being told I couldn’t OC in the store.

So anyway, the black rifle racks were mostly bare. There were a couple Bushmasters in cammo. The ammo shelves were bare around the .223 and 7.62 bulk packs, but they had plenty of the more expensive stuff. I went from there down to the pit near McCleary to sight in the EOTech and play with my sniper .22LR Savage. Blue Diamond security came by and told me they’ve closed this shooting pit because the house to the south had absorbed some rounds. He was happy that I was shooting to the west with a good backstop and said it would be OK for me to shoot for the rest of the day, but that the pit was closed from now on.

Thanks to all the dumbasses bump-firing and shooting wild, we’ve lost another excellent place to shoot. :X

I don't know of this area so I have to ask. Is this public/state land, or was it private property that had given permission to shoot there?

If it is private, okay fine. If it is public land than they have no right or ability to stop you from shooting there, and the issue of thehouse being hit by rounds needs to be a criminal issue handled with whoever is shooting those rounds, not the whole shooting population at large.

Iwent to the gun show at Little Creek casino this weekend. Some of the prices there were pretty outrageous. Some thumb-holed stocked AKs (didn't look to see what kind) were going for between $700-$800. An AES10-B with a scope was $1000 and another one was $900. I paid $420 for one from J and G a couple of months ago. ARs were around $1000-$1100. No ammo at all. No magazines at all. Lots of talk about the president elect.

And I bet the 1,000 dollar ARs were Olympic Arms that went for 650-700 a month ago :) If they were M&P 15s or Colt 6920's than feel free to buy away freely at that price.

The ammo and mags are gone just about everywhere (except for places that sell mags $30.00 each). Every site where I knew you could get .223 for under $400.00 a case shipped is out. You can't find a PMAG in stock for less than $20.00 anywhere either.

There are still ARs available online, as well as mags. Check out PK Firearms (www.pkfirearms.com). They have RockRiver ARs available (in stock) and free shipping on rifles. Also 20 round mags (sorry, no 30s available).

These guys are easy to deal with, ship quickly. I picked up two complete uppers recently to finish off my POF lowers. One 20" SS bull barrel for four-leg varmints, and one 16" mid-length for 2-legged varmints.

That is the story all around the interwebs. You can find HK mags for 45+ bucks, you can find any mag you want on gunbroker for double the price, and you can buy 5, 10 and 20 rounders (except 20 round pmags) just about anywhere.

Any other30 rounders at a normal price, you have to wait on.

I would like to recommend www.mygotimegear.com for anyone looking to order some PMAGs and they don't mind waiting a little bit. I put in an order for 5 the weekend before the election with a discount code that expired on the 5th. On the 5th I asked them if they could add 5 more after I saw they were backordered everywhere. Than yesterday I asked them to add 5 more to the order, and even though they didn't have to, they still gave me the discount code I originally had on the 5 more.

They are supposed to be getting a very large shipment in sometime in the next 2 weeks...
