I also wonder if they realize that they are asking their teenagers to commit felonies, since in almost every state the possession of a pistol by some one under 21 for any reason in a public setting is a felony, and that in asking them to confiscate them if they are found they are asking them to also commit illegal seizure.

Federal law says 18 for pistol possession, NC allows possession at 18, must be 21 to purchase from FFL, which is also Federal law.
Aside from the fact that said employees would probably be instructed to refuse entry rather than steal property (felony theft, anyone?),
I agree with what he said.
Federal law says 18yo adults can purchase a pistol in a private sale, but not from an FFL.
This page:

has links to the gun control act & national firearms act, which seek to control who can possess firearms.
Altima, one of the forum rules is to cite to authority, exactly for this purpose.
When you make an assertion, you need to provide data to back it up.
Tell us states (which in general allow citizen possession / carry of firearms - no fair citing Illinois, Californicate, New Jersey, etc.) which make possession by an 18yo adult a felony.
Sweeping generalizations [
"in almost every state the possession of a pistol by some one under 21 for any reason in a public setting is a felony"] tend to be false.
(And yes, that itself is almost a sweeping generalization.)
I know of no state which prohibits minors from receiving supervised instruction in firearm safety or participating in competitions.
There are states which allow minors to carry with the permission of their parents, or their supervision. [IIRC, Arizona is one.]
