"Would I carry one? It would have to be well proven. "

Hence, test 1st, carry after. Been torturing the crap out of my 845 since I got it.
Drop it, kick it, run over it with car, freeze it, soak it, shoot the hell out of it, and not clean it-intentionally.
Admittedly partly out of concern for the less-than-proven to me myths/bashing I hear about them before I bought it. Has held up 100% thus far, proving most of the bashers dead-wrong.

For the price- the features, ergonomics, hi-cap in .45,etc. have worked out well. I wont hesitate to carry and use it for it's intended purpose. And if I do encounter a prob down the road, Ill try the warranty or get a gunsmith to work it over.

In any event, socialist, consider future posts a waste of time. Your credibility=zilch. Troll on, noob. :monkey

ah duhe....

A revolver that mis-alligned the cylinder. Would shoot single action all day but was iffy on double action. I bought it for double action. Taurus fixed it. Life is good and the revolver is great. Would I buy another Taurus? Yeah, maybe. Would I carry one? It would have to be well proven.

Ah, duhe, I guess someone didn't do thier job that day.... another job well done by Taurus USA.:p

I own Taurus PT 1911 and love it "now". At first, I had issues with it locking up so that the trigger could not be pulled after a few shots. The problem was traced to the Taurus hammer and sear with the little locking screw in the top of the hammer. The hammer and sear were replaced with Wilson parts and I haven't had anymore problems. It goes bang every time I pull the trigger now and the trigger pull has always been great.

I have owned 3 Taurus handguns.

Taurus M85 - sent back for repairs right after getting it home from the store, works perfect now, fixed under warrenty

PT1911-AR Flawless, shoots great, sold it because I hated the rail and .45 ACP is a bit expensive to shoot ( i shoot A LOT)

PT1911 9mm - sent back for repairs after getting it. Fixed and works great now

I'll say it, "FOR THE PRICE" they aren't bad. Just make sure they're good to go before you trust it with your life... (I only carry my glock, i don't trust anything else) the 1911 is my fun range gun.

Just make sure they're good to go before you trust it with your life..

Had one example after 1000...

HERE'S ONE AFTER 1000 ROUNDS........I had a pt111 millenium pro. The problem I had was that the captive recoil spring kept coming out of the front of the pistol, rendering pistol useless. I fixed it with a new spring assembly and continued using it thinking it may have been a fluke, the second time it happened I got rid of it. Keep in mind that a couple thousand rounds were fired through it with no other problems than what I said.

Who's keeping track of that?!! And then experience a close encounter of the second kind!!

I only carry my glock, i don't trust anything else

I'll go along with that.

Actually, you wont. Since you trolled into a NJ gunshop asking for a Taurus, were told they didnt have any, got irate at the shop keep, who -in turn gave you a story as to why he didnt have any, which you bought, hook, line, and sinker, and left empty-handed.
Ya, the gunshop guy knows u well, alright, He cracks up laughing at the mention of you.

I understand the OPs frustration. It is POSSIBLE that perphaps Taurus is having QC issues over the last year which is the timeframe you have eluded to. I think what most of the posters on this thread are having issues with is your thread starts off seemingly anti-taurus. Again I would suggest if you have any issues contact Taurus driectly. Perphaps share your concerns and send those "Guns and Ammo" discussions to them.

It sounds like your experience with the Taurus you own(I assume still do) has been good so far, and thats great! Was it made during this last year that you believe the issues to have come from? I noticed one of the people in that article said they bought online, although this is a great way to get the gun u want sometimes at a better price... I think when buying something your going to depend on with your life you should inspect the firearm completely before purchasing, as well as before firing(pretty sure all gun manuals say that... but I am not sure "Real men dont read the instructions."

Here's the thing- He DOESNT HAVE, and never has had any Taurus.(his own admission-several posts above) He's the same clown who trolls from forum to forum ranting about QC/issues with Taurus for Lord only knows what reason.
He knows nothing -1st hand- of what he speaks. For whatever reason he just registers with forums, then starts off random posts about Taurus quality issues for whatever reason-apart from being likely un-employed and entirely too much time on his hands.

these guns are hit and miss.. that tells me the quality control isn't good. I have a revolver that's good. A local gun shop don't sell them anymore due to poor quality control as a result of mass production.

Sounds like to me that some days the job gets done and some days it doesn't.

You wanna plink, fine deal with junk, you want to risk your life on it, fine do what you will. If I would have known about taurus before I bought my 66 I woulldn't have.

The bottom line is they are hit and miss. Guess I got a hit

Not at all-but here's the fact to keep straight-none of these are his own comments- he's copied/pasted them from OTHER PEOPLES' posts -mostly in other forums- into here. Hence the link in his very 1st post. Now, since we called him out on that, he just copies the parts he wants to post, into here, instead of linking to the forum/author from whom he got them in the 1st place.

Oh heaven forbid.

Fords break down (as well as Lambo's and every other automobile in the world).. Hopefully it'll continue working down the road, given their awful track record of breaking down and not working..

/facepalm

There may not be a specific rule regarding quoting from other sources, but it is the polite and ethical thing to give credit to the source. In other forms not doing so would be considered plagiarism. It is understandable that most would object to the regular practice of ignoring that courtesy.

What is of particular concern are attitudes towards posters here and the not so subtle slurs which ARE personal attacks. Such are grounds for serious sanctions. Talk about the event, problem or product NOT the personality. Note: This includes PMs.

+1 to the Moderator! Lets all play nice and pass the peace pipe... I got the week off so no worries about U.A... that was a joke... Anyways Taurus are good guns for the money sorry to hear that some individuals are having issues but I would say in whole Taurus has achieved a benchmark in quality at an affordable price.

To the OP if you dont like your Taurus I am sure some of us would be interested in taking it off your hands for the right price of course!

I don't have any because I wouldn't buy any.... I believe the gunshop I do buisness with, with OTHER affordable guns like Taurus einstien.

Or don't you get it. He sells both pricey, to the ones who can afford it, and non-pricey, to the ones who can't understand? He sold Tuarus for years, but the last year and a half... is where the demand got TAURUS in trouble believe it:eek: or not.

Ooookayyy I get it. Another low post fella coming in here trying to either disrupt or cast dispersions on a firearm and take us all away from what really matters. I have a PT140. Use it to CC. Love it! It hits what I point it at and goes BANG!! every time. My daughter has a new 840. We have yet to put a full box thru it, and yes we've had a few issues. Couple stove pipe ejections and a failure to feed. Weather's been too cold to dork with it. But soon we'll get it back out and figure out the issues. Magazines seem loose in the well. Other'n that the dang thing shoots straight.
And you say you don't have issues because you would never buy a Taurus. Well there Y'are, my case is rested.

I'll take thier word for it...

The shop I deal with and people from other forums.

Why would I chance buying something I have to deal with issues? Sounds really dumb to me. There's more things against Taurus then for them. It just makes more sense to stay away form them. It's like drinking booze... it effects people differently, why should I take the chance and maybe become an alcoholic? stay away form it and not have the chance of becoming one.
