It's really a travesty, Jim. VCU has the largest Police Department in the state of all of the state supported schools and leads by far those institutions in reported crime.

We keep repeating the letters of the alphabet because the crimes keep being repeated - over and over again, ad nasium, w/o end. Local residents have become jaded to the mayhem and often tend, w/o merit, to blame it on the students. The students and staff at not the problem, but they do provide tasty snacks for the wolves and jackals that prowl the area. VCU is an exceptionally rich victim zone.
We often refer to this schools as "institutions of higher learning". Yet the administration/leadership responds to this situation with lies, deceit and emotionalism, not facts. The facts are in and have been for some time: Guns Save Lives, guns reduce violent crimes, guns on the hips of LAC are not the problem. Gun Facts by Guy Smith. We presume that they have the capacity to comprehend such evidence. We want the educators of our youth to be first honest and forthright, not prevaricators.
By any definition, VCU is unsafe and the buck stops at the top. They could change that if they but had the moral courage to do so.
