I bought a BP 1851 pistol from Cabela's a while back and ordered THIS holster for it:

Question is,can I water-shrink the holster to more closely fit the pistol? Wrap the pistol with Saran wrap or equivalent and dunk the holster.

Ideas?

You probably can, but the leather in those holsters might not hold the shape. I am using a Tom Threepersons holster for mine. It is very similar to the Bianchi lawman holster. Most holsters for a Ruger Single Six will fit the Navy just fine.
