• We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.

As a long time MD resident (I finally escaped to VA) I am well aware of MD’s restrictive gun laws. However as a MD resident I knew that I was safe transporting an unloaded and cased gun to my residence. As I still have family and friends in MD and plan on visiting them in the future I need to know exactly what is meant by “Bona Fide” residence. I have seen several MD threads where this comes up and is never resolved. Does a family member’s house where you are staying qualify? Does a hotel room? I know that I have some security under federal law if I am simply traveling through, but I am not sure if I am covered if I have to stop at a hotel.
