East Kentucky Open Carry Meetup - December 14th

EKOCC Meet & Greet to be held at the Jenny Wiley Lodge (Dining Room) on December 14th @ 11:30am.

We will be meeting upstairs near the TV in the lobby then going down to the dining room for the buffet and discussion. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

For those that have inquired, Jenny Wiley is a State Park and is not under the ACoE! The Dewey Lake is likewise part of the State Park and is not under ACoE! The Dewey Spillway IS ACoE property though!

I'd love to see everyone that we've ever had show up but I'll be happy if we have you, Bre, myself and maybe 2 or 3 friends from up here show up. The only thing I have not been able to verify as of yet is if they have the buffet on Saturdays or not but I do know that the dining room is opened on Saturdays and they're serving so.... *LOL* either way, there'll be food and conversation. *LOL* I've been spreading the word about this meeting, I want to see just how many we can get to turn out for it to see if it's going to be better, the same or worse than Ashland. I guess we never know till we try though. I do know that there are more folks up here that have voiced and interest so I guess we'll if they were serious or not.

I don't know if it's the fact that the EKOCC Meet & Greet has been moved more to the east side of the state or if it's because of the new format of OCDO moving this to Kentucky Events but I'm sure that we can all tell that the number of views is outrageously low compared tot he posting for October's M&G.

Maybe, maybe not, it's a two hour one-way trip to prestonsburg, further away moreso than Ashland, plus weather dictates things to me, I don't CC at all, ever, so if it's heavy jacket weather and I do go, I won't bother carrying at all. I'll let y'all know for sure Friday morning if my maybe turns to a yes or no.

If you want we can carpool from Louisa, my truck is probably worse on gas than your jeep. So I would even be ahead to pay the gas from here to Prestonsburg.

We cannot car pool from Louisa, primarily because I live near Owingsville, which is about 90miles from Louisa, LOL.

Looking on the map, you're closer to Prestonsburg than me, and the only way we could carpool together is if you drove to Morehead, and parked and we drove down to prestonsburg, however you're closer to Prestonsburg than you are to Morehead. xD. You should look into buying a SmartCar, or a 1980s Ford Fiesta.

It is about the same distance from Owingsville to Louisa as it was from Owingsville to Russell. I would either be ahead paying for the gas from Louisa to Prestonsburg in your jeep or be exactly the driving my truck, just with another passenger.

Okay, on second thought, sorry Isaac, I can't take that much driving/car riding. http://goo.gl/maps/0iBQL Owingsville, to Louisa, to prestonsburg is 136miles, 2hrs 17 minutes. In which I'll drive all the way out to the KY/WVA line about 90 miles away, then down the line to Louisa, then down to prestonsburg. Then back to Louisa, then back home. Four hours, 300 or so miles. That's one and a half tanks of gas, and a heck of a trip for me. I don't want to sound stubborn or anything, and I sincerely apologize, but I can't do that.

While just from me, to Prestonsburg, is roughly 80miles, and just about an hour.

Maybe next time or when I'm less plagued by insomnia and a four hour trip wouldn't have the risk of me falling asleep at the wheel LOL. But still, looking like a good perhaps, maybe a real yes on going, depends still if I have any unexpected bills come up on friday.
