RICHMOND, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A criminal nicknamed the “Scream Bandit” has struck again.
The Richmond Division of the FBI says the suspect robbed the Goldy’s Gas Station on North Arthur Ashes Boulevard in Richmond on Jan. 26.
The FBI says the suspect pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the clerks and demanded money.

here i thought the federal agency investigated: terrorism, counterintelligence, cybercrime, public corruption, civil rights, organized crime, white collar crime, violent crime, and WMD.

now perhaps under the guise of violent crime but the organization's website it states, quote:

Unless asked the FBI has no jurisdiction to investigate a crime unless it is against a federal facility specifically violates a federal law , or crosses state lines.

But in the past few decades they have gradually horned their way into just showing up at state level crimes unless told not too.

True. The United States has no general law enforcement authority under the Constitution. The police power is entirely and pre-emptively under the control of the states. When FBI agents impersonate police officers, they have no more authority than any other citizen would. But, the System Establishment Machine ("the Beast") being corrupt, getting a court to implement the law might be too much to ask in the face of The Power.
