February 2018 MEETUP Concealed Carry Louisville & Open Carry Announcement

The next Meetup for Concealed Carry Louisville, including Open Carry folks, is going to be on February 15. We are meeting at Tumbleweed Restaurant on the Outer Loop. The meetup will be from 6:00 till 8:00 or a bit later if we want to chat. I have talked to the GM and she is OK with open and concealed carry at our meetup.

Generally we have our meetup on Wednesday evening but since that is Valentines Day we moved it up a day. That way we are not competing with all the amateurs out that evening.

We are an open and friendly group of both Conceal Carry and Open Carry folks and all are welcome to attend. This month we don’t have anyone special to talk to us so we can have a good open discussion. I am relatively sure there will be much talk about the current GA18 session and the bills concerning gun laws.

Not sure if many of you have followed the posts from SPOT in Las Vegas but there certainly have been a lot of announcements from the show. Some new hand guns we can discuss.

a nit, your announcement reads like OC is the bastard child or an after thought of the CC Louisville group ~ oh ya those folks are invited also...

wording suggestion: “the group is comprised of handgun carrying citizens...” in lieu of stating “ blah blah CC...including OC...or comprised of both CC and OC”

btw, by putting the term “handgun” in your promo, you can legitimately turn away those who might carry in, either CC/OC, their long gun :uhoh: thus saving a conflict & discussion in front of your hosts.

If you want to carry a shotgun or long gun open or concealed be my guest and by all means come out. The idea is to meet, greet and eat. I could not care less how you want to carry or what kind you want to carry for your self defense weapon.

I don't want to open carry, because I don't want anyone to know I have a weapon. If however you want to be first in the line of fire, be my guest. If you don't want to come to the meet up by all means stay home. If you want to have your own Open Carry Only Meetup, do it.

Dude, you just stepped in it. Your true colors just came out. This is an open carry forum, not a conceal carry forum. You believing that bad guys are going to shoot open carry guys is a false premiums. And, no evidence to support you bias.

sorry, that wasn't me pitching a fit...trust me Lou!

but that was me trying to offer you a viable suggestion on how to word your announcement(s) to preclude the hosts of your gathering location from having a complete hissy fit cuz some of your attendees show up hauling their tactical kool AK w/belt of ammo and dressed in way out camo outfit with a half skull mask on and the whole group of you are scaring the living gee whiz out of the host's other customers where you won't be invited back in the future.

Lou, i have never stated nor advocated which way you should carry your PD handgun as that is your preference, based entirely on your comfort level.

as for losing your bet...sorry if you can't afford the loss of your betting funds i recommend you cease making foolish bets. (i do have a wooden plane for sale in OR if you are interested...minimal flight time)

please remember your experience base on carrying a PD firearm and your exposure of dealing with the tactic kool citizens who will take advantage of your naivety in this area and you become a news article.

ps let me know how it goes when the antis show up, or someone swats your gathering, all while tactic kool folks are there.

Not quite an entire community.

I don’t see where the guy did or wrote anything all that terrible, to be honest sounds like a bunch of butt hurt. He’s trying to do something, which is a lot more than many. So, there’s a learning curve. I pretty much expect to be castigated for this position, which is fine. No great loss not being here either.

Sorry, this part of the community is not only not allienated, I plan on attending the event in question and I really doubt that any of the offended parties would do that, no matter what the man said or did. It was not mis-speak, it is his mind-set. The statement by LouKYccguy demonstrates his intentional bias towards open carriers. Open carriers in his mind are second class citizens. I don't think he understands the difference between "right" versus "privilege." Maybe gutshot II can change his way of thinking.

first, Lou has consistently presented on this forum as an CC only middle aged advocate who had been recently granted his KY CC permit after accomplishing a 8+/- hour course taught by a LE while wearing their loaded handgun (bad form on so many levels).

notice there is no mention to the local community's citizens of who might be interested in attending of by the way 'OC is welcome' comment!

third, Lou's first thread regarding his gathering was wrought with a bit animosity, e.g., not initially releasing the gathering meeting place, oh btw no guns allowed, and so forth!

fourth, Lou's second thread boldly announcing his gathering's upcoming meeting time with illusions of 'oh by the way' OC folks are invited, then his outstanding rebuttal comment regarding his contempt for his belief OCer's will, in a SD incident, be shot first!

fifth, nobody has asked if provisions of KY statute KRS 237.110(16)(e): quote: Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense beer or alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to that purpose; unquote will allow them to carry at this venue?

no, Wstar425, sorry 'WE' do not have a 'way of chewing up...etc.' but 'WE' do, thank goodness, have a perchance of freely expressing our opinion...

so if you are concerned about this newbie's misspeak, then one would believe the same courtesy would be extended toward other member's who might be guilty of the same offence which you feel is a perceived insult towards the newbie!

so let's see, first handgun gathering ~ no guns at venue's request! second handgun gathering ~ possibly no guns allowed due to state statute prohibition.
