4 mile walk, that puts me at a total of 20 this week, no problems today. I will be going to the gun show this weekend I hope to see someone.
Four Season's Oriental Grocery in Va Beach
Miller Mart on Hampton Blvd. for some quiznos... older cashier saw my gun and took quite a liking to me. DJEEPER says the same thing happened to him with a different cashier.
Yorktown tomorrow for the JDRF walk (which starts on school property :banghead, then maybe to the range for a bit. Spotted 2Aforall at LGC last Sunday.
Off to the mountains after that.
Wal-Mart on Lynnhaven last night, bought some food for the Mosquito no problem.
There were a couple of instances where Walmart employees thought that the policy was like he stated. In one case I think it was an employee that transferred from another state where that policy existed. I don't remember the resolution of the other case but think a talking to the manager cleared it up.
Feel free to OC at Walmart and buy ammo! I do it fairly often as do many others.
Welcome to the forum!
Not sure how out of the way it would be for you; but, the Wal-Mart near Chesapeake Sq and the one off of College Dr (In Suffolk) always seem to have pretty good stock of 9MM...Wish they kept up their stock of .45 like that too...:banghead:
time will tell now as I wait for Corporate to call me (see my post 10.23.10) but hope your daughter is feeling better
I'll be curious what corporate says too. I believe most company's will allow the local manager some discretion to make their own rules but something like this seems assinine.
What your doing, taking the initiative, is definitely the right thing to do. Many people think that someone else or some organization like VCDL should take the lead but they don't get that "we" are the organization and need to at least start the process. If we make honest attempts to clear up an issue and the corporate entity is unwilling to work with us then getting additional help/clout from VCDL leaders and the rest of the membership is the next step.
Are you a member of VCDL? Join if not, its only $25 a year and is a very good organization.
I have not had a single problem at any walmart I have shopped at so I am surprised that this one store is causing the issue.
My daughter's fever broke and she is getting her voice back so let the Karaoke begin! We feel lucky that the rest of us haven't caught it.
I went back to the Lynnhaven Wal-Mart #1688, last night at 415pm to purchase again, yes OC.. TOLD NO!!! told the young man to take my 100 rounds to the CS desk and I would pay there and to have the mgr meet me there. WELL , after 15 minutes NO bullets and NO mgr. Finally the night MGR FLO called CS Desk and told me it WAS a WALMART,INC RULE to NOT sell ammo to ANYONE ARMED!
OK..... I counted to ten.. Called my child (16 f shooter fyi) Google Wal-Mart, I want corp. number.. which is if anyone cares 1-479-273-4000... I got to speak to DAVE, who told me (NOW AT 30 MINUTES, still waiting for FLO to find this RULE on letterhead with ARK addy) "it is NOT a rule per WALMART,INC, however each store can make it if the OVERALL MGR feels it is necessary.
To which MY reply was," so DAVE, your telling me the OVERALL store MGR, is the only one who can make this call, and you can tell me this is a GOOD idea in a GOLD STAR open carry state, where it is a State Constitutional Right of a Resident of this state?
Dave.....Ohhhhh
Me: Where this Wal-Mart is less then a 1/2 mile from a range and is home to five military bases that use this Wal-Mart for ammo and hunting articles. But, I cant open carry to purchase ammo in this store. (Now three CS Mgrs in front of me) Also Dave, when I can show you the last 6 months of receipts of ammo while I was armed, as my gun has been on my side since the minute I purchased it from this same location.
Dave: Ohhh I see. I think there is a miscommunication within this store #1688, can I have your number and a Wal-Mart Management Specialist will call you by Tuesday to sort this out with you and come to a resolution.
Me: Dave, I can understand if this location was in a dire straights area, however the location is not in bad part of town, I know of no issues here with the law, etc.. but to have one associate sell to me and another say no, or to have the Night mgr FLO, tell me she will sell it to me now but she will get it and bring it up front , then walk me to the door and hand it to me there. Dave, I am a grown female and last I looked I didn't need babysat. (laughed as he did).. Oh BTW Dave, my family in laws are from Arkansas so I know there is a HUGE problem with this "policy" if you will!
Dave: Oh Yeah there is and it will get fixed very fast! They will call you before Tuesday and I will call you Wednesday if that is ok to verify that you are happy with whatever resolution that comes about.
Me: Awe that is sweet Dave thank You.
Now, 45 minutes later, one of the CS mgr standing there listening says it is crock, I should go to the bathroom and conceal it to get my ammo.. NOT a choice now, I am done. I said thank you for your assistance in this matter and I will be contacting the overall store manager.
As I start to walk away from counter, night mgr FLO, calls out MAME, I have your ammo, you can purchase it here if you want to. to which I questioned the policy I have been waiting for, she said they are still locating it, but I can purchase the ammo and she will walk me.
My Reply: With all due respect Ms. Flo, I am a 43 yo Female, I an grown and do NOT need you or anyone else to hold my hand while I shop here in your store. If I thought I was in the need for assistance I would have surely asked for it, but I didn't. Now Until I speak to Corporate next week, I will not buy anything here and I will make sure everyone I know in this state knows of this issue with this Wal-Mart. Now if you will excuse me, I will be spending my money at the range and purchase my ammo there. Have a good night.:banghead:
but on a good note, i hit the range and shoot out 150 rounds, put my sexy sleek black 9mm on my hip and went home... SMILING of course

Pumpkin Hunting Success
Well we got up at the crack of noon and made our way into the woods. The elusive pumpkin was near since we could see his tracks. We climbed up into our tree stand and sprayed pumpkin urine one each of us (pumpkin pie custard) and waited for the rising of the GREAT pumkin. After a few minutes and two candy apples I bagged him! A call to the game warden I registered the kill and cleaned him right there. He was only a 1 point but it was a big "one". I took a picture next to the carcass just so that we had proof of the size of the beast! We will be eating pumpkin pie for months now.
ok I guess I am missing something here, but I am trying to learn.. you bought what for what...lol

I had heard a number of problems with the Mosquito so I went with a Walther P22 for my daughters to train with. I didn't get the pink one though.
