Illegal???

Please review the video on the link below and help me understand why these men were breaking the law. Please do not get into a political discussion, just want to know if they were breaking GA Gun Laws, even if they had an Open Carry Permit.

The video shows members of the Black Panther Party walking down the street armed with semiautomatic weapons shouting "Black Power” and asking citizens if they voted for Socialist Candidate for GA Govenor, Stacey Abrams.

Welcome aboard, but you must be a facebook member to view the video. Most here will not use facebook because it is so antigun.

Are you referring to this? https://www.toddstarnes.com/politics/armed-black-panthers-campaigning-for-stacey-abrams-in-georgia/

It is kind of odd in that Stacey Abrams is antigun.

CoL’s cite shows the New Black Panther’s perception [quoted below] was this wasn’t political support per se, but rather an ad hoc gathering to express concern over GA’s voter registration issues.

Now to respond to your query, IMHO after research from GApacking.org
[ https://www.georgiapacking.org/threads/mass-rallies-planned-february-8th.245635/ ] regarding this year’s earlier firearm carry [OC/CC] at the GA Capital and while not the norm, OC’g ‘firearms’ w/GA permit/license is completely legal.

Sorry, I believe those who carry, OC/CC are the only individual who knows if they are legally carrying and carrying where they permitted to, period!

Now as mentioned on the GA forum, LE’s were expected in mass and were watching like hawks at the carrier(s) to assure carriers exercised appropriate safety precautions.

Now to ask the question, IF these carriers were of a different ethnicity, say Hispanic, Asian, Natives, or even White, would you be in such an uproar? Quote from CoL’s cite:

Panther - West End - Atlanta, Georgia - Armed Rally Against Voter Suppression
And relax, before you make any assumptions we are not working for & we did not plan this event with either campaign, and we have members with different political views both here in Atlanta as well as nationwide and even right here in this post. We did this on our own accord in response to the voter registration issue we're still dealing with here in Georgia in 2018 (53 thousand registered voters voices won't be heard this election).

Who says they were doing anything illegal?
Were they arrested? If so would you be so kind as to cite the arrest charges and charging agency?
