For whatever reason you abandoned the forum w/4 posts each in ‘17 & ‘18 yet feel it is appropriate to unequivocally state...’this what...’

Now care to support or remain whining this is what it has devolved to mentality.

I stopped posting here because it became a cesspool of pointless drivel, posturing, and ego stroking, and whether you want to hear it or not, YOU are a main offender. The number of astonishingly dense rants you guys throw at each other are so PAINFULLY CRINGY that I do not wish to associate with any of you who take part in it. The best members here rarely post anymore or are dead. It's overrun with absolute garbage that has nothing to do with the RKBA. This thread is case in point.

I learned a lot on this forum, and owe many members here a debt of gratitude. I thought for a while that one of the other main offenders was banned, and with you gone too, things were nice and chill and for the most part stayed positive and productive. It was actually safe to lurk again. But alas, our dear Moderator has passed on, so SURPRISE SURPRISE here you guys are, back to your same BS. Shame on all of you.

I wish peternap was still here. He had a way of telling people to STFU and GFY that was as concise as it was pointed. I get a little too wordy sometimes. This forum DESPERATELY needs a moderator, better yet one who is liberal with the ban hammer.

I'm sure everyone CAN'T WAIT to read your lengthy, verbose, and condescending attempt at a retort. I know I'm excited!

The Truth, first I have been aware of your animosity, as you just expressed, as the topic was discussed several times w/grapeshot with absolutely nothing conclusive being discerned between us which could/would lead to your issue(s); i noticed, with quite a bit of interest, there were no public nor private admonishment(s) from you to/towards me to bring any issue up for resolution.

Further, The Truth, if, as you posted, you do not appreciate the topics posted and discussed by participating members then why on earth didn’t or don’t you post something of relevance or interest to scratch your knowledge itch.

This thread was arrogant, assine , childish and frankly stupid when it started.

I'm as quilty as anyone for keeping it going. Sort of like watching a plane crash. It's horrible but hard to look away from.

I'd suggest the adults around here that have been trying to point this out to the OP, that his thread is insulting to the site owner and unbelievably arrogant of him to start in the manner he did simply ignore this thread and him until he either grows up or gets banned.

John, please, please, please, appoint a moderator or two.

You have a couple of posters who are trashing your site. You are losing other posters as a result.

I wish I did not have to ask you publicly, but all of my private pleas were being ignored. Unfortunately asking publicly will result in this thread becoming very nasty, very quickly. I just saw no other option.

I just thought that the current state of the thread would be the perfect time to repost the original, very simple, request. Please compare this request to the recent reactions, especially the ones that characterize it.

This is a thread on human nature with many criticisms of others, but much more unintended self criticism. It's a side show where people let off a little personal steam. And that's probably human nature. When you're bored with side shows and ready for the main attraction, we have tons of other threads with serious 2A and OC discussions!

Indeed, that is what the thread has become, with all the folks desperate to prevent site moderation, ironically while displaying the very behavior that requires moderation: personal insults, threats, spam, implications of knowledge of personal information that will be revealed, etc.

Again, I thank all who have participated in demonstrating why OCDO is in desperate need of moderation. Oh, and, thank you also to all of you who help keep the title of this thread on the top of the list.

Ok. Here is where we are:

1) When Eye95 approached me about lifting his ban, he said he would try to get along. He clearly continues to stir the pot and I have reinstated his ban;

2) Solus ... you have not been banned but I have received no less than a dozen complaints from other members that you make the site unenjoyable, antagonistic, and several have stated that you drove them away. Try to be more human toward the other posters ...

3) My law practice continues to take up a great deal of my time and I continue to search for a replacement for Grapeshot but he was a one of a kind great man. The search continues.

I admit I’m not as pure as the driven snow. And I surely took my shots at eye95. If I recall, he is the only person on this forum that would find a way to push a lot of buttons for a lot of participants for all the wrong reasons.

I believe some moderation is required to deal with occasional squabbles and spam. Apparently, John has not found that person. Someone just having that title will usually result in self-moderation. But, what concerns me is the old adage power corrupts. I hope whoever John picks doesn’t let that happen.

It is time to lock this thread.
