None of the news reports I have heard or read have named the dead "terrorist", despite the fact that he has a long history with British law, including a stint in prison. Could it be that, based on the style of attack, the "powers that be" don't want to embarrass the current mayor of London as it is likely that the terrorist is of the same "religious affiliation"? He was wearing a hoax vest-bomb, possibly in the hope that it would scare people away and keep the police from shooting him.
Fortunately, not only did the people of London stand up to this idiot and tackled him before he could hurt too many, the police finished him off.

I think it is fantastic that a few Londoners had the "intestinal fortitude" to lay hands on this creep and hold him for the police.

BBC quote,
The man who carried out the stab attack at London Bridge on Friday, named by police as Usman Khan, had previously been jailed for terrorism offences. Khan, 28, was wearing a GPS police tag...
Khan was known to the authorities, having been convicted for terrorism offences in 2012. He was released from prison on licence in December 2018...unquote https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-50610215

BBC quote,
Born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, Khan was originally jailed along with eight others, who were arrested in 2010.
The nine, inspired by al-Qaeda, had been under surveillance by MI5. The men - who were from Stoke, Cardiff and London - were engaged in several plans, one of which involved a plot to place a pipe bomb in the London Stock Exchange. Those from Stoke were overheard discussing potential attacks in their city, including leaving explosive devices in pubs and clubs. unquote

British citizens are not told by their government to go hide in the event of an event...these citizens used a fire extinguisher and a "5’ narwhale tusk" from the wall of a fish market store and beat the crap out of the man...

'fraid, with minor exception, US citizens would've been whimpering on the ground of hollar'g ...'you shouldn't use that AWFUL weapon.."

finally...everyone here would be upset the nasty policeman shot & killed this person of colour!
