New Orleans to Baton Rouge travel?

I'm going to be flying into the New Orleans airport, driving to Baton Rouge
for a visit. Are there any localities with grandfathered anti-OC laws?
If I visit LSU, can I leave my gun in the trunk? I assume carrying a gun
on-campus is not allowed.
Also, off the OC topic, are there any bad areas to stay away from in
Baton Rouge?

If you CC, and have a valid permit, you are subject to the restrictions that go along with it.
If you OC on campus, all you have to read is LRS 14:95, illegal carrying of a weapon.
