I'm from Texas as you can see in my profile. My grandson lives in Arizona and is 20 years old. Can he carry open/concealed with/without permit? Any help is appreciated greatly.

Yes, he can open carry from 18. Restaurants that serve alcohol are off limits, though.

What part of Arizona does he live in? Might be able to make it to a meet-up if he lives in the PHX area, or an OC lunch down here in Tucson.


As others have already pointed out:

Age 18-20: OC is the only lawful method of carry, so having the shirt tucked in behind the pistol may be a good way to remain lawful by preventing accidental coverage of the sidearm. Any places that serve alcohol for consumption are off limits (bars, stadiums, etc.).

Age 21 and up: OC or CC are lawful (choice is yours). It is unlawful to carry into any place that serves alcohol for consumption UNLESS you have a CCW (and your sidearm must be CC), stadiums are still off limits.

The usual warnings: No lawful carry on K-12 school grounds, no carry in federal buildings.

Yes I heard that as well. Something about all the postal employees parking in nearby lots instead of the PO lot whenever an inspector or someone is due to show up. Kind of silly if you ask me.

It always did. It's in the same CFR's that say you can't have your dog on postal property, too. That said, neither of these has ever been actually enforced in a parking lot.
