Non-Resident Carry in Maine

I am from Virginia and have family in Maine and I was wondering what the laws were considering open and/or concealed carry in Maine if you are not a resident of Maine. Thanks.

Make sure you unload in a vehicle if you don't have a CCW permit valid in Maine. Maine recognizes Delaware, South Dakota, Louisiana, North Dakota (Class 1 only), Wyoming, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

I have a Non-Resident permit from Pennsylvania. Does this permit me to carry concealed in Maine?

MaineCWP is probably more knowledgable than I am in this regard, but I think your Non-res Penn permit would be accepted in Maine. I don't think the statute says only res permits.

Well that sucks. So if I ever get back to Maine, I can only open carry but have to disassemble my firearm every time I get into my car. Awesome. Too bad Maine is such a beautiful state lol.

Unless you get the permit, which you can get by mail quite easily.
