Considering the politics in this country, all of us could use a good, stiff drink !
Yes, I'm a young and inexperienced person and yes, I'm considered to be presumptuous or overconfident. I always want my enemies to think that.no CoL i said i reference you as a young whipper-snapper!!![]()
Did you have much "fun" going on Medicare or was it a paperwork nightmare? And, now that you have reached your FRA, have you started SS or are you holding out for the max at 70?Sooo... another year,, I'm 67 now, drinking Tequila that was a gift from my friend John.
I'm not happy, but I'm older, a bit wiser and still healing from a fall and broke leg in August.
I miss the old guard of forum members,
Grapeshot, Peter Nap, SkidMark, Deros72

Mine was done on the phone with no hitches. I went at 62 because over the long hall you get more.Did you have much "fun" going on Medicare or was it a paperwork nightmare? And, now that you have reached your FRA, have you started SS or are you holding out for the max at 70?
According to the tax lawyer I asked, that is only true if you die before 78 y.o. You don't get as much of an increase when SS gives us a COLA, we get the same amount deducted for Medicare regardless of when retirement benefits started, and that makes the "break even" point around 77-77.5 y.o.Mine was done on the phone with no hitches. Well, if that is true then I hope I loose the bet.According to the tax lawyer I asked, that is only true if you die before 78 y.o. I went early as well due to medical problems that made it difficult to find an employer that would take a risk on me.
If your physical and mental health are good, I agree. If you are at the point where you can't walk a block without your back screaming at you, is it worth it?Well, if that is true then I hope I loose the bet.
single malt, neat!Happy Birthday Defender and congrats on making it to another one. Is that a single malt you're having or a "blended" Scotch?
And "on the rocks" or "neat"?
Enjoy !
