I have family down there below OKC who are beggin me to come down there. Lookin at rentals, jobs and the law..

I OC here all the time and am reading more of your posts to get the feel of things down there, if I do move.. gun law will be a factor in my decision...

Well, it seems the time is nigh for me to make a move to OK. I will be heading that way around Oct. 11th and am looking forward to enjoying the area. Does anyone get together for any discussion on OC?

If we can get it through the legislature again and Fallin wins, I mark it as probable. If Askins wins she would veto it faster than Henry did. She is reported to have been one of only three votes against CCL's or the Oklahoma Self Defense Act.

BTW, as it was written, you have to have a CCL to OC.

My wife and I moved here from California in 2002. She is a native Oklahoman that lived in CA for a few years, that is how we met. I lived in CA for 26 years. First thing I did after moving here was get my CCL permit.

I do believe we will get open carry next year, now that Mary Fallin is the Gov. And since a whole lot of republicans replaced democrats in the same election, I think it highly likely.

I will not carry openly too often, but will consider it a good thing in that if my shirt lifts up and exposes my gun, the consequences will be nil. Also if carrying concealed by wearing a vest or jacket, and I go into some establishment where that outer garment is not necessary, I can take it off without worry.

Anyways, welcome to Oklahoma.
