Question About Vehicle Carry

Hey All,

I’m traveling this coming weekend to the middle of nowhere Oregon (more specifically central Oregon) to purchase a vehicle and I’d like to bring my pistol with me. I have already applied for my CHL and waiting for it in the mail currently so I won’t be carrying it on my body so I’m wondering the following:

Do I keep it in my trunk, the glove box, do I keep it in a locked container somewhere in the vehicle, loaded or unloaded?

I’ve done some reading but as it is on the internet there are always conflicting comments.

Thanks and appreciate the help.

Without an Oregon Handgun permit this makes open carry difficult for cities and counties can regulate your open carry with restrictions. Most central and eastern counties are not a problem, but Baker city does require the open carried gun to be unloaded. Oregon just sucks if you don't have their permit. try going here for reliable information on Oregon firearms laws.

Just click on Oregon and it will bring up gun laws specific to Oregon.
