After reading up and viewing the maps on opencarry.org I still have a couple of questions on open carry. Any feedback will be deeply appreciated by this novice gun owner. I hike a lot in some very remote areas, mostly PA, WVA, and VA. I would like to carry a firearm for personal protection. As I look at the map I can see that open carry is allowed in these states however I do not reside in these states.
Question 1: Am I allowed to open carry in these states or do I need to be a resident of these states or any open carry state in order to open carry?
Background info: I reside in New Jersey (oh joy). I have a NJ Firearms Purchaser ID and I also hold a Utah non-resident Concealed Firearm Permit.
Question #2: Would my NJ FPID and Utah non-resident CFP make it allowable if the state is recognized as an open carry state?
Thanks in advance for any feedback - Mike
