Robert Sarvis could do an immense service to the Commonwealth of Virginia by dropping out of the race for Governor. Sure he provides an outlet for those that like both his message and the chance to cast a protest vote, but at what expense if McAuliffe were to win - that and Sarvis doesn't stand an ice cube's chance in hell of winning.
Sarvis is siphoning votes from Ken C., thereby increasing the risk that Bloomberg style politics will come to Virginia.
Ken C. would probably be a decent choice....so long as you agree a citizen with CCWL shouldn't be allowed to exercise that right while drinking.
A Virginia Senate committee killed a bill yesterday that would have allowed gun owners to carry concealed weapons in bars and restaurants.
Sen. Emmett W. Hanger Jr. (R-Augusta), chairman of the Rehabilitation and Social Services Committee, said members were split 7 to 7 on the measure and on a compromise proposal, so he tabled the bill without debate or a vote.
"There were seven votes all over the place to do a number of things, but there weren't eight votes anywhere to do anything," said Sen. Ken Cuccinelli (R-Fairfax), a committee member who backed a compromise that would have prohibited gun owners from drinking while armed.
Backers of the bill said having to leave behind firearms when going to dinner violates Second Amendment rights and is impractical.

Here's an interesting legal opinion he gave WITHOUT any personal suggestions or actions to ensure the rights of the citizens referenced. Of course, I'm sure there are gay/lesbian OCers out there..........but my main point is: IF he identifies a legal roadblock that prevents private/state agencies from attempting to protect the rights of ALL citizens, without any action on his part, or offers to the solution, what kind of person is he DEEP, DOWN, INSIDE HIS GUT?
On March 4, 2010, at the request of several state universities, Cuccinelli issued an official opinion to "Presidents, Rectors, and Visitors of Virginia’s Public Colleges and Universities" that stated, "It is my advice that the law and public policy of the Commonwealth of Virginia prohibit a college or university from including ‘sexual orientation,’ ‘gender identity,’ ‘gender expression,’ or like classification, as a protected class within its nondiscrimination policy, absent specific authorization from the General Assembly.”[28]
Virginia Democratic State Senator John Edwards said that Cuccinelli was "turning back the clock on civil rights in Virginia."[29] The American Association of University Professors and the University of Virginia also criticized the opinion.[30] Cuccinelli defended the legal opinion: "Our role isn't in the political arena on this subject. Our role is to give legal advice, to state what the law is."[31] The Washington Post said previous attorneys general of both parties held that local governments could not enact nondiscrimination policies for the same reason that Cuccinelli cited.[8]
Governor Bob McDonnell supported the legal reasoning in the opinion.[32] However, he issued Executive Directive One to all state agency heads stating that he would not allow them to discriminate based on sexual orientation.
Now, I'm not saying Kenny wouldn't be the best choice available..........I'm just saying, that in my opinion, he is so far from perfect that I believe it is possible that he could be bought just by the rest of the politicians & end up doing what those who replenish his re-election bank account.
