True to my word I went out and bought an AR-15... Bushmaster. Got it from Guns and Ammo Warehouse in Manassas. Got waited on by Longwatch. Introduced ourselves to each other.

Nice meeting you Longwatchand thanks for the intro to black rifles.
About how much did you give for it, if you don't mind my asking? I'd like to have one, but I can't seem to stop buying other guns, so I can't afford one as of now.
List was $1699, I paid $1499. It is the model with the upper gas piston (vs the blow back),A3 handle and front flip up sight. Tax was extra of course.
Good to meet you, we had at least 3 OCDOers come in yesterday, names withheld to protect the guilty.

Back to the OP, I see some folks were ready for any outcome.

Oh, and the police were out. Didn't really do much about anything. I mean, people illegally blocking a major roadway isn't a big deal, is it? Look at where the female officers right hand is though. ;)
Antagonize a peaceful group calmly celebrating? Sounds like a great idea. Instead of cops keeping an eye on a technically illegal (but as of yet peaceful) gathering you would rather have a massive fight in the streets, with cops and innocent people injured?
Calmly? It was hardly calm. I don't know about you, but whenever a lot of people get together like that, I don't like it. If I remember correctly, the 2004 ALCS/World Series riots started out "celebratory" as well. I can only imagine what would have happened out in the streets if Obama lost.

Did you see the T shirt I was wearing that day?

Yes. I remember the day well when you first signaled to me your membership in the resistance.

Great line. Greatest movie. Thanks for the link. I'm looking forward to OC'ing with my own resistance shirt. Maybe even with my assclown hat!

Now, is there any Grandpa out there needing to send his granddaughters to safety with us two freedom fighters?

Voter's remorse already? :D

Indianapolis - Lines were long and tempers flared Wednesday not to vote but to get paid for canvassing for Barack Obama.

Several hundred people are still waiting to get their pay for last-minute campaigning. Police were called to the Obama campaign office on North Meridian Street downtown to control the crowd.

The line was long and the crowd was angry at times. "I want my money today! It's my money. I want it right now!" yelled one former campaign worker.

I'll have to take your word on it, but judging by the pictures it doesn't look that bad. Sometimes (right or wrong), people are going to do what they are going to do, especially in large groups. Unless there is fighting/property damage going on, I think it can be best just to let people go on about their celebrating instead of provoking a violent response. I wonder how many of the riots starting out as celebrations would have remained a rowdy crowd had authorities not tried to break it up.

Some turmoil where I work. Two guys were talking about some plan being drawn up by a Dem Congressman and this black girl flipped out saying it was Bush's fault. Today me and a co worker were talking about how California is and she went on a racial tirade directed at me. I work for the Fed Gov so she will be getting paper work Friday morning.

Instead of the EEO/racial paperwork, I suggest reporting her for a Hatch Act violation to the OSC. (Of course, nothing says you can't do both.)

The automatic penalty for a Hatch Act violation is termination. If the board unanimously agrees, this can be reduced to a 30 day suspension. Those are the only two options.

As a union official in a federal workplace, I constantly caution people who forward political email at work. If someone complains to the right people, there's nothing I can do to help them. Sorry, nice working with you, hope you get another job soon!
