I agree and I guess I shouldn't make light of the possibility, but Riots are a city problem so they aren't my problem. If there is an uprising, I'll have to go into Richmond and get my daughter out so she can go home.
There is a possibility that if the NAACP loses their case on Monday, and I think they will, and there are problems with the machines in the inner city, some uproar could happen. Certainly no civil war.
Now as rebfan stated, the long term effects of either party will be an issue and without getting into politics, I expect a great deal of domestic terrorism in the future. No matter which side wins, many things in our country are gone forever. We've hit the high water mark and headed down and there isn't anything that can be done but let it run it's cycle.
I hope you are right but I think you are wrong. If anyone has ever seen a liberal protest you would quickly realize the vile contempt these people have to not having the world revolve around their beliefs. They don't often end in arrests for nothing.
I also think that the media has done a good job at egging on something violent that is a creation of racism. I think this is what they really want.
All I know is if McCain wins anyone with a yardsign or bumper sticker may be smart to pull them after the election.
At least until everything settles down and gets back to normal.
