XD SC right?

Yes XD 9mm SC 13+1 Hornady JHP.

Sorry it took so long to respond, but I haven't been online recently.

Sometimes when I am up there I will also carry my XDm .40 BiTone Fullsize. but I like the SC. I feel it has enough stopping power for me. Plus it fits in my pocket without printing.

This is just MY opinion and take it for what it's worth...

I know it may have seemed that some here were unduly harsh. But what they are saying is an important aspect of OCing. IMHO, this is what comes with deciding to OC, as opposed to NO-Carry or CC...always be aware that you are serving as a representative OC. In the same vein, if I was cc, I might have walked around the property, OC I would have been more concerned about the possibility that what you described would happen.

For example, I was going to work on my house today and wore my grubbiest clothes and didn't shave. Therefore, I chose to CC; not because of any perceived hassle I may have from LEOs, rather that when I OC I consider myself an ambassador and need to represent OCers in as positive light as possible. However, if I didn't have a CPL, I would have showered, shaved, and OC'd.

Thanks Dr. I deffinetly see where you guys are comming from and I do agree with most everything thats been said and it has been noted. I do try my best to represent myself and OC in the highest light I can, this was.. a silly mishap and a lesson learned the hard way. But sometimes those are the ones that stick a little better:lol:

The key is, you learned a lesson, and you and your CPL survived. :) Any LEO encounter that doesn't end in an arrest, or worse, I call good. :) Generally speaking that is. :D

I was asked to leave a local movie theatre. I went in and was looking for the time my movie was to start, and noticed a employee very obviously notice I was OC'ing. I got in line and thought I was in the clear after I bought my ticket. While in line to get a drink and something to eat a manager I believe did a fly-by while talking on his radio. I made it all the way to the start of my movie when 2 people with flash lights asked me to come with them, )and since I was fairly certain I knew why) I just went along with them. In the hall the same manager asked me if I was a police officer. I said no, and asked if I could go back in so I would not miss the start of the movie. He said and I quote, "Absolutely not, I am asking you to leave. If you do not I will call the police." I asked if there were a manager available. He said no, are you going to leave? I said I would prefer to speak to someone in charge. He said he was the assistant manager and the manager was not available. I said Yes I am leaving and I want my money returned, and I would be speaking to his manager about this. He said the ticket would be refunded but not the food items. At the counter, the Asst. manager left and the girl had a hard time with the CC machine. The asst. manager came back in a and said I could come back and get my money refunded when the manager was available. I was just fine with that and left.

I will follow up with the manager when I get in touch with him.

I think you, had a contract with the theater, they let you in with your gun, purchase a ticket to watch a movie and purchase food to enjoy the movie with, I don't think they can trespass you, unless you are creating a disturbance, the actions of this manager was the only disturbance. This is unlike going into a business and being asked to leave, where you have no contract.

The law considers a purchase of a ticket a "license" and they can "revoke the license" at any point... but should give you your money back since you in no way derived ANY benefit from purchasing the ticket(s). My concern is that you didn't refuse to leave until they gave you back the cost of the ticket(s). Now, they can either claim that they don't know what you are talking about (hearsay) or claim you left on your own (you agreed with them). But, I am no lawyer... and I intend to keep it that way.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Some of us who've been for a long time still have "mishaps"... leave it in the past, a "lesson learned" and carry on!

OC'd with fiancee and grandson at the "Love 'n The Loop" activity in Pontiac. This is an initiative by the local government to attract folks to congregate downtown on Friday's in the late afternoon into the evening. Artists of all types, classic car owners, families to walk around all of that, etc. There wasn't much going on with that . . . I think this just started up recently, though, and they're hoping it grows. But downtown Pontiac WAS packed with young adults for a concert. Oakland County Sheriff's Dept. were all over the place, doing a good job as far as I can tell. I had no issues at all, and was not interacted with even once by a LEO.

Opened carried on my motorcycle from Monroe to Canton, then back to fedex off of Eureka road

Had to notable occurrences:

I pulled up along side a car at a red light on Michigan ave just west of I-275, the car had 4 occupants all young men, probably late teens early 20's.

Just before the light changed as I was scanning the surrounding area, i happened to glance in there direction, all were sitting forward in their seat, one was pointing at my gun and obvious having a good.

I guess they never seen a Japanese bike before????

about a hour later on Eureka road heading east, along the airport, a woman driving a chevy, started to pass me and as she did I glanced over at her. I like to say our eyes met and we had a moment, but her's were bugged out and all of a sudden she increased her speed. for the next 2 miles ever time I got close to her car she increased her speed to stay ahead of me. I am sure if anyone was listening to Romulus police on a scanner, there was a MWAG report.

got done at fedex and headed back in the same direction back pass the same cop sitting on the side waiting for a speeder. no issues all day

DrTodd, I watch too much Judge Judy, I would not push the issue of leaving, its not worth the results of a Judge's Decision, Just thinking?

OT:
OC on Motorcycle, Newport to Napa auto Belleville, then to Chase Bank Belleville, then to Kroger in Ypsilanti then to a bbq in Ypsilanti, No Problems.

OC'd to Botsford ER on Thursday morning with Greyfoxx. She had fallen earlier in the week and the pain was getting worse not better. They did some tests and decided it's just deep bruising.

We were there for ~3 hours when a security guard approached me and asked to see my CPL. Being that it's necessary to have a CPL to OC in a hospital and he was polite, I complied. Then he told me how he was an ex-cop and I have to conceal in the hospital to be legal, but that doesn't matter 'cuz the hospital doesn't allow carry anyway. Since we were about to get discharged he said he'd let it slide this time, but in the future I have to leave it in the car or put it in their lockbox.

About 5 minutes after he left, two more security guys show up and tell me I have to leave the hospital or they'll call the police and trespass me. So I was escorted to my car and locked up my gun. On the way back in Greyfoxx was heading out, so we just left.

(Entering the ER I went right past a guard and I'm 99% certain he saw my gun. No mention of it then. Several nurses and other staff also saw it on my way in and no mention was made till 3 hours later. Saw nothing posted prohibiting legal firearms.)

Will upload audio later after I edit it. Maybe Monday or so.

Just got home from St. Andrew's Highland games with Greyfoxx. OC'd there for ~45 minutes before being approached by a Livonia LEO. Officer was very polite and knowledgeable. Said that he knows it's legal to OC and wasn't going to ask for ID, but the event organizer wanted me to leave or disarm, so he escorted me to him.

The President of St. Andrew's informed me that he didn't want me to OC there and I had to put it in my car or leave. I tried to talk to him about it, but he wasn't willing to listen. Since he seemed upset about OC and not the gun itself I asked about CC, but he said that since he's seen it then the gun has to go. Asked about a refund and he said absolutely no refunds.

Since Greyfoxx really wanted to see more vendors and pipers and whatnot we went out and dropped the gun off at the car.

(Nothing posted on their website about no firearms. Event was on public property in Livonia, but you had to pay to enter. Nothing posted at event. No mention by ticket sellers. Walked past several groups of LEO's with nothing said as well.)

Will post audio after editing. Probly Monday or so.

Places I've OC'd lately with no issues:

Meijers in Allen Park.
CVS in Melvindale.
Clark Station in Melvindale.
The Palace market in Westland.
My lawn while doing yardwork in Melvindale.
Between Westland and Melvindale on my motorcycle.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. Most of the time there are no issues. Just certain places that don't love me. lol

ETA: Had several nice conversations with folks in Meijers and at the Clark Station. Maybe they'll turn up here.

OCed at the Monroe County Fair from about 4 pm to about 6 30ish, no issues
as I was leaving one County Sheriff seen me and started to walk towards me but never approached.

it started to rain so we left otherwise we would have stayed a bit longer

lots of looks, couple of points, two young kids working in one of the food wagons walked around me in a circle for about 5 minutes while we were eating (i did notice a person I suspect to be the food wagon owner watching me ever couple of seconds as we ate) but the only screaming I heard was from the kids on the rides!
