WASHINGTON (ABC7) — The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) reports there has been a significant spike in the amount of licensed gun stores falling victim to criminals nationwide.....“It’s a growing trend and we’re concerned about it," ATF Special Agent Dave Cheplak with the Baltimore Field Office said. “Our goal is to make sure that these weapons don’t wind up in the hands of the criminal element."

When the ATF is concerned, FFLs usually get screwed. No definitive action yet, but it is coming to a gun store near you.

Wabbit - the caption under the picture is from March of this year. The article talks about FFL robberies in 2012, then compares them to the numbers from 2016. I don't consider that to be "old news", merely the compilation of several years and the trend they show.
This is good to know as there have been at least 3-4 LGS robberies (IIRC) in the St. Louis and Illinois Metro-East area over the last 18-24 months. At least one was from a certain chain-store retailer.

Makes you wonder who, and where these guns went.

Unless you, Mr. ATF man, want these guns to get into the hands of the criminal element. Operation Fast & Furious comes to my mind.

humm, big problem for FFLs but old news since last year as time line on your article is dates back to Marcj 2017.

might want to renew you script to wsj...

Whatever one might think of Pres. Trump, this story highlights one more benefit of the Hildabeast not winning the White House. Under an Obama part II presidency, ATF "fears" of robberies from FFLs could easily have lead to a dramatic increase in non-legislative, regulatory actions to make sure such robberies were prevented. The costs of complying with these regulations--including dramatically increased number and intrusiveness of inspections--would have forced some number of FFLs out of business.

Not only does that decrease the ease of acquiring new firearms, but when an FFL goes out of business, all those 4473 forms get turned over to the ATF (unless the business and records are acquired by a different FFL).

Elections have consequences. And whatever traditions of decorum Trump may fail to uphold, his not actively attacking our RKBA is a huge benefit compared to Hildabeast being POTUS.
