Real world testing consists of dozens of shootings such as this one. 10 years from now we'll have some real evidence about the Judge's street credibility. If it has any, it is only because of the multiple hit capability per shot which put it somewhere in the firepower range of the anemic VZ61 Scorpion.

For the time being, I'll keep going under the assumption that a revolver filled with 45 colt is lacking as capacity to power goes, and that a full sized 410 sucks, never mind a sawed off 410.

Any time someone is killed there is a family that will cry for them. Cops, Soldiers, Spies, Thugs, any one. It doesn't matter if they were a good person, a bad person, if they deserved it or if it was murder.

I know if anyone in my family died I know it would make me sad, regardless if they deserved it or not.

But I certainly wouldn't go on the news and try to make it seem like they weren't in the wrong if they were committing an unlawful criminal act against someone.

I guess if you have Taurus Judge you should go for head shots though.
Which makes me wonder how close they were when the shooting occurred.
Also, isn't that a very strange comment about the Judge being the gun all judges carry in court? I guess some people like to make stuff up when they are writing official pieces of journalism.

Thanks, I only read the article and didn't watch the video.

So, that's still not convincing, to me. Lots of low-power rounds can be fatal when shot in the head, when they wouldn't even begin to slow someone down if delivered center mass.

I feel sorry for the shooter, the mom, the godmother, and even the kid. sometimes we walk down scary roads that end with bad things happing. It is a true shame for all, but the shame to me is the man spent 5k defending his actions :banghead::banghead:

The celebrated counter-sniper rifle shot through the scope. Attributed to USMC sniper Carlos Hathcock against a Viet Cong (VC) or North Vietnamese Army (NVA) sniper he and his spotter were deliberately hunting.

Just prior to the famous shot, both snipers were hunting the other. The bad-guy knew he was being hunted and was counter-hunting. If I recall he even took a shot at Burke (Hathcock's spotter), busting his canteen.

The story goes, as published in the book Marine Sniper: 93 Confirmed Kills that Hathcock was scoping some foliage where he thought the enemy sniper would be, but couldn't see anything. Then a slight glint. Hathcock decided to chance a shot at that glint's location, not knowing whether the enemy sniper was there. He was.

When they picked up the dead enemy sniper's rifle, they realized the only way Hathcock's bullet could go through the scope is if the enemy sniper had his cross-hairs on Hathcock. Thus, the idea that Hathcock was quicker on the trigger.

A little wording problem with Anti-Socialist's post: Hathcock was not a VC as implied by "before the other VC did."

I applaud that statement.

It sounds very cold, but this teenager died of a common failing of teenagers and a very common root cause of teenaged deaths. He died of terminal stupidity.

I would not doubt that some on the board had at least one close call with that cause.
