Did go to a movie ccing, not taken the wife to the movies unarmed. Did go to AZ to be with family for Christmas. OCing when stopping for food and fuel, no issues.

This is what happens when we let too many Californians with their anti-2A views in. We all knew it would happen eventually - we'd become a suburb of CA. :uhoh:

This Californian is trying to get out lol! I pop in here once in awhile whenever I'm visiting.
We're staying at bally's, carried everywhere no problem. Walked strip to nacho daddy for food, no problem.
Zero reactions from people, but you always see the eyes when they look down. Headed to hash house a go go for breakfast. The off-strip restaurant location.

Try the Omelet House on Charleston Blvd for breakfast on your next visit.

Another good day of OCing

Oced this weekend at Sketchers shoes Maryland parkway, Kohl’s Valley Verde; Fry’s electronics, one will have to guess which location. Then ended up at Famous Dave’s on Blue Diamond. No issues, however a couple of events. At Sketchers, wife and I getting into my truck I see it has a brand new scratch and ding in the side from a door. I know it came from the car next to me, which the passenger just got into and were getting ready to leave. I know the passenger did it as the car was there when we parked and the ding was not in the side of my truck.
At this time, I wanted to let them know what I thought of their rudeness. With my piss-offness propensity, I have the ability to make things a lot worse. I can see the 911 call. There is a big old white guy with a cowboy hat and large holstered gun yelling absentees at black couple in a car. So I got in the truck thought for a moment about shifting into 4-low and see if my truck could make the climb up the trunk and on to the roof and decided it would not do my truck any good and left. So once again, my OCing was an asset as I cannot be the one with an open carried firearm to start what could easily turn into a violent encounter. Thank you full size XDM40.
Then at Famous Dave’s having dinner with my wife a guy comes to our table and said please excuse me don’t want to interrupt however do you mind I would like a few minutes. I said sure. He said I saw you walking in OCing and wanted to thank you for carrying. He said I am sure you were as glad as I that we got Trump. He came back to our table later said he just got out of Comufornia and was so glad to get out of there. Another good day of OCing.

Open Carry

I mostly open carry on the way to the range. The only problem I had was going into the Gold Dust West in Carson City. I didn't see any signs posted saying no firearms allowed on the main door or side entrance and I was just going there to eat dinner with family. I ended up bowling and a security officer walked up to me right to my face and told me to leave. He was an ass about it. I just let him know that I didn't know I was allowed to have my firearm with me and left. That's the only problem Ive had.

Anyways I carry everywhere and have had no problems. Some stares and questions. I definitely leave my gun in the car when Im downtown though.

OC at Galleria Mall Henderson

Went out For a visit to my local mall with my wife and 2 year old daughter was OC a .45 Ruger spent an overall good visit until the end. Made sure to check for any signs that regulated OC or firearms before entering there was nothing posted so I continued shopping passed by a couple of security guards and even used the urnial next to one with out any question of my OC. Final after being there acouple of hours as I was walking to the escalators with my daugther in my hands. I was approached by a security guard confronting me on OC telling me no weapons were allowed on mall premsis and I had to leave immediately. As I was already leaving I thought nothing of it until he than proceeded to Harras me and my family over the radio followed by an escort. That got me a little upset being as I had done nothing wrong and was being escorted out of the mall with my family as a shop lifter would. What should I have done ? Any stories like this before at the galleria ?

Depending on the place and person, it was often suggested after saying to them you have no problem complying and leaving follow up with, however I would like to ask for your supervisor. Ask to see a copy of the policy as in the past there has been employees that would wrongly say guns are not allow when it was not the policy. Showing willingness to comply keeps them calmer. Also stops the start of a trespass action as long as you show the willingness to leave and do after the conversation they cannot trespass. In Nevada, they first have to give a warning of trespassing and give the person being asked to leave a chance to leave.
I have a statement I will tell them. I will leave; even though it is the right of this business to have a no gun rule, it will be posted on several pro gun sites that this place is an anti Second Amendment establishment. They refuse to follow the state law allowing legal carried firearms in even though the vast majority of Nevada’s business open to the public does follow the State firearm laws.
I, my family and friends will not set foot in a place that will not allow me to have the legal tool which I receive constant training on to keep me and my family safe. It has been proven over and over that gun free zones are killing zones. Keeping legal trained firearm owners out while allowing illegal gun thugs in who do not follow laws or rules is asinine!
Some say the above statement does nothing however; the one thing that surely does nothing is not pushing back.
Galleria Mall for a long time never gave me any problem. Then a few years ago, I had a guard come up to me and tell me the same thing that I had to leave. I told them the above statement and said I am waiting on a watch that is getting its battery changed and if ok I will leave after I get the watch. They said that would be ok. By this time, I had three guards following me around. When I walked up to the counter where the watch was the lady said what are they doing here? I told her and she said what a bunch of carp. It was some months after they had a shooting in the food court. If I remember correctly, no one was hit. Gang thing and apparently the shooter did not get the no guns allowed message.
I say you did fine. Important thing is complying and if having a chance letting them know what you think about stopping you from keeping you and your family safe.

A few weeks ago, I OC at Kohl’s on Blue Diamond, then off to Brass Pro and Fry’s never an issue. Then we went to Cracker Barrel our first trip in this one. No issue, one of the employees with a tie dress shirt came up to us on my strong side and said how is everything? Pleasant short conversation, standing maybe two feet away from my very obvious full size 40XDM and never said a word about it. I have OCed in Cracker Barrels in AZ and Utah and never an issue.

Cracker Barrel has had a long standing corporate policy against guns - been dicussed here at length.

Last night sitting waiting for our in n out food and had two young ladies sitting next to me. Dressed nicely one gets up the other says where are you going she told her friend I want to set next to that guy, me. She started asking about carrying a gun and what is needed.
I gave her the quick rundown for open carry and CCW. When I told her about open carry she like most was surprised to hear one only needed to of age and not a criminal. She asked about training and does she need a gun for the training I suggested checking the indoor ranges for training and renting a firearm to start with.
I often am approached on the issue do not post all of them. I guess it is my charm. The cool part, at least in my mind was they were black ladies younger and had no problem sitting next to an old white man with a gun and asking.

It's been awhile....

So, can folks update me on:

* Park open carry - still legal?
* Cop shop open carry - anyone try it?
* Library open carry - did they outlaw it?

Anything change in the oc laws in the past year? I've been around, but oc has been so uneventful that I've not stayed up on it.

Thanks!

Library was a no go. I really did not understand all of the legal bantering. The mom that got crossways with Metro the charges were dropped however ended up losing the suit. The Libraries went on a mission with lawyers to come up with some weasel worded law not allowing firearms.
Park carry is a non-issue. Have not heard of any issues with park OCing for a few years. Earlier this year there was an anti gun group that meet up at Sunset Park for a rally. There was a counter protest of 20 or so OCers. I was one. As a group, we just quietly hung out right next to the group with sings all were OCing. Metro stopped by and chatted for a few minutes with the counter group protesting organizer and a few others, all very friendly. The organizer told the Metro cop as he was about to leave not to worry about the anti gun group’s safety we will protect them also. Words to that affect the cop laughed and left.
I have not been a Metro station for many and have no idea if they are still posted with the no CCing NRS. I have not heard of anyone for a few years trying to OC in.
A great source for Nevada gun info is nevadacarry.org. The guy does a great job with his blogs and gun law info. He has several blogs on the library issue along with many other issues.
