Today I stopped by the Fairhaven Food Pavilion in B'ham on my way to my motorcycle shop. Bought some energy bars and Gatorade. While standing in line the woman in front of me told me she liked my t-shirt. I thanked her and continued standing. A few seconds later she asks if it is real. I assume that she is talking about the shirt and I said "Yes, its Leon Russell". She clarified that she was talking about the pistol (Ruger KP345 in a Fobus holster) and asked if it was legal to carry like that. I explained to her that Washington is an Open Carry state and she said she was glad to hear it and would explore getting a pistol. She liked hiking but was worried about being accosted in the middle of nowhere.
After work, off to the bank to deposit my earnings. OC into the bank, two deposits, one money order purchased, no comments from the people in front of or behind me and nothing but cheerfulness from the young lady telling for me.
Into Haggen in Ferndale, back to the bathroom to wash my grubby hands (no sink at my shop), then picked up some steaks and trail mix. No comments.
All in all, a pretty good day. Felt a little weird as I have been wearing jeans and a light jacket for most of the winter when not totally bundled up. I also had to dig out a belt for my shorts. Was headed out this am when I realized that the gun would probably drag my waistband down until I looked like one of my high school kids. Haven't worn a belt with shorts in years if ever.
