I ran into Atkins* (off duty with his wife and kids in tow) yesterday evening. Regrettably, I was not OC.

* "I smell alcohol", "You don't need to fear for your safety unless you resist," "intoxicated, which you obviously probably are," reaching for the gun, officer safety memo, etc.

In other news, tomorrow is the 2 year anniversary of the first trial and, I think, the statute of limitations for felony perjury is up.

I feel you, however as a person who has been down a similar road, (to a lesser degree) I feel that requesting a corrupt system of crooks to do the right thing, is how they somehow remain relevant.

Well it turns out the head of security of my employer's Reno facility was a Sparks cop up until 2009, when, incidentally, he and Sparks were sued, and settled, for arresting some guys for videotaping in public.

I paid him a visit to ask the specifics of what, when, and who from his former employer contacted him about me supposedly carrying a gun at our current employer. (When he and his boss confronted me, his boss said an employee saw me carrying a gun in the building.) At first he played dumb, then he admitted SPD contacted him, but he said he couldn't remember who, somebody in supervision or management.

He said he and his boss were just doing there job when they grabbed me and began to search me and that they have the right to do that. I said, "Well, don't try that again." He got irritated and told me not to tell him how to do his job, he has to protect company assets, and asked me to leave. Once a thug cop, always a thug cop.
