In another recently posted thread regarding bring charges against the state trooper who left his firearm in his vehicle, his 11yo retrieved it, and shot father in the buttocks with it!

Is is situation as dangerous and should the parents be charged or their children removed from the home...

“According to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report written by doctors at Oregon Health & Science University and a scientist from the Oregon Health Authority, the boy got a cut on his forehead while playing outside on a farm. The cut was cleaned and sutured at home.
But six days later, he started to cry, his jaw clenched tight and the muscles in his arms and upper body spasmed involuntarily. Those episodes were followed by his neck and back arching and more full-body spasms. Then he started to struggle to breathe.
His parents called for emergency medical help and the boy was transported by helicopter to a pediatric medical center. There, he was diagnosed with tetanus.

{Horrifying hospital stay - read the cite}

However, knowing all of that, the CDC noted that the parents of the child chose not to give him a second dose of the vaccine or any other recommended immunizations.”

It comes amid a measles outbreak in Washington and Oregon that has sickened 75 people, most of them unvaccinated children.

Not only consciously failing to immunize but putting the entire community at pandemic risk!

You can not get Tetanus from human to human contact.....so there is no pandemic risk here..

On the side note, how long did society use Johnson & Johnson baby powder until we found chemicals in there that causes cancer?

Has anyone ever died or become expensively ill because they were vaccinated?

Such isolated incidents (that I am sure have occurred) wouldn’t mean anything either.

The government shouldn’t get to tell us what medication we must take. That is a personal choice. That is Liberty.

That being said, the tetanus vaccine is proven to be generally safe and effective, and my kids were vaccinated. But I would not presume to tell other parents that they must vaccinate their children.

So the comment about 75 measles cases in OR & WA mentioned right above my pandemic comment ?

Well individuals use of baby talc on their children sent to preschool won’t spread communicable diseases like measles, chicken pox, or pertussis through a community which affecting children and those bearing children.

On a side note, l see your talc and raise you tobacco products, vaping, and now the proliferation of marijuana! How much have tobacco industry’s paid to in retribution back to CONSUMERS?

By the way you got 800K+ to pay the hospital bill? No, then that cost has just been spread across the community’s other citizens.

so sir, your new daughter in law or niece or ...is proudly bearing child and because of a community’s lax immunization policies this child bearing woman through direct contact or through droplets in the air from a sneeze/cough/etc may have their pregancy result in a miscarriage, stillbirth or pre-term (early) delivery.

How cavalier is your rhetoric now?

I was referring to your title "tetanus"

I agree certain vaccines should be encouraged to protect the community as a whole, but i don't think it should be a MANDATORY..
Just like most females don't want the government telling them what to do with their body....parents should have the right to raised their children how they see fit as long as it does not cause a rippling effect onto society.

On a side note, l see your talc and raise you tobacco products, vaping, and now the proliferation of marijuana! How much have tobacco industry’s paid to in retribution back to CONSUMERS?

Consumers still have a CHOICE in these matters.....and the known chemicals from tabacco are know to the general public along with its effects.....Talc was a hidden secret until someone got hurt.

By the way you got 800K+ to pay the hospital bill? No, then that cost has just been spread across the community’s other citizens.

Everyone should be accountable for your choices you make in life regardless of what the consequences are.
Have the parent setup a repayment plans to pay back the burden he/she caused that's their hospital bill, not mine..

My daughter-in-law IS with child. If she wants protection from disease, it is she who should seek vaccination. She should not be expecting it of others.

I hope she has already, but I will not demand that she do so. You see, I believe in Liberty.

See my razor below.

You logic about others bearing the cost is the same as the logic for Obamacare or for single payer. No.

Humm...not except others are appropriately vaccinated under the cause of liberty...

Please enjoy your liberty of freedom of speech as someone hollars FIRE or GUN in a crowded venue and the chaotic exit begins and someone is injured or dies?

“The $28.1 million represents more than three times the annual budget of Gage County, population 22,311. To pay it, the county has already approved the maximum property tax hike allowed under state law, rattling taxpayers and farmers with large acreages, the Omaha World-Herald reported.

This type of atrocity is regularly occurring across the US.

The immunization example above is not analogous to the cop not taking proper precautions to prevent his duty weapon(s) from being purloined. The cop has a additional burden to prevent unauthorized access to his company gizmos.

Why did the kid get his pop's duty weapon? Is there not a privately owned firearm in the house? If there is then it appears that gaining access to them is far more difficult that gaining access to the cop's duty firearm(s)...in his company vehicle.

I was about to respond to the “fire in a crowded theater” point, but I have done so before. Please see the “Massive Misunderstanding” thread.

Thinking that you don’t have a Right to shout, “Fire!” in a crowded theater is a massive misunderstanding of Rights.

Again, the razor. It is amazingly clarifying.

We are not free from the consequences of the exercise of our rights when the exercising our rights conflict with a fellow citizen's rights.
