Veteran posters, help the new guys! QFT, LSM, BVD's??

I have found abbreviations and acronyms used byposters very difficult to understand, and wish there was a place on this forum to learn the lingo so some of the mystery can be avoided. I was involved in a SD shooting and in the near futurewish totell of my situation in hopes that some will benefit from my experience.

BVD's = comfortable but unstylish undergarment
SD = Survival Discussion
OC = Origami Connoisseur
UOC = Unorganized Origami Connoisseur

I don't have a clue what the others are. Never even seen them.

SD = Self-defense

Another common one is CCW = Carrying a concealed weapon, or CC = Concealed carrying.

BUG = Back-up gun

Not sure what the others are though..

A few more that show up regularly:

RTKBA = right to keep and bear arms, q.v 2nd amendment

RAS = reasonable (and specifically) articulable suspicion, q.v. Terry stop, 4th amendment

PC = probable cause, again 4th amendment

SHTF = poop hitting the fan, extreme/desperate survival situation

LAC = law abiding citizen

LEO = law enforcement officer

AD/ND = accidental or (more likely) negligent discharge

OP = referring to the original post in a thread

OT = off-topic with regard to a thread or the forum generally

Yeeehaaaa! :celebrate LOL I'm a Postal guy (as in going!) LSM is a letter sorting machine, but Maoist works well... Legba has a clue to what confusing terms I had in mind, and it won't take me long to get up to speed. Thanks for the thread, I'll check it out. I am on my second CCP, wife on first, have been enlarging stones and OCing some! Definately want to get my story straight for when LEO eventually stops me and asksWTHAY doing! This'll be fun!
