I am always armed. I attend this Memorial, at this cemetery, each year. When I attend funerals or Memorials to the Dead I go in uniform, this occasion, Dress Greens.I also wear an issued funeral belt w/ leather holster. The Star BM, when in this holster looks like a 1911.
I had my Brother-in-law in town with his Sweety and the three of us went, as observers, to pay our respects to the Dead. As we walked up to the Memorial site, we were approached by a Wa State Parks guy. He said he needed volunteers for the Flag Ceremony. Simple, old flag down, new flag up. He came at us because I was the only person in an Army uniform. I feel that Citizenship is a verb and I told him I would be glad to assist, and I got the Army Flag.
Sorry I confused you, I do not always make myself clear.

Makes a bit more sense - you were filling a void :)

I used to buy Star BMs to give to newbies - they're good guns. Gave my grand daughter my last one.

Great little pistol the BM. Mine is marked as used by the spanish secret police. I burned out a barrel link and had a devil of a time finding the part. Finally got a stainless pair from a guy that had the same problem and made his own.

I remember reading that post and the explanation some time back.

Unfortuneately Star parts are becoming harder to find with each passing day - even IPARGUNS MANUFACTURA DE ARMAS S.L in Spain seems to have disappeared.

You might remember my M40 from a very old thread.
Still have it and no it's not for sale :p

Well, put me on the list if you change your mind. I like the Star. My EDC is a CZ82 military pistol. All steel and a lanyard ring.

Out and about with my Sweet Baboo. Stepped outside our normal parade and went to Lorenzos for a meal and a margarita. Staff handled the weapon without worries, but we had a few rubberneckers and double takes. I guess we have to go there a bit more to help "normalize" the others that go there..
Stopped by the courthouse just because I can. I had no real business there, just wanted to "normalize" a bit. I had a few extra "brochure oportunities". Seems like I hear it more and more each day. How does patty murray think she represents these people.

Gun show OCDO table this weekend folks. Silver Reef Casino on saturday and sunday.

Spent the day at Silver Reef Casino with Sudden Valley Gunner and my Sweet Baboo at the OCDO info table. It was good having Lori there to speak with the Females that approached us. We will be set up there again on sunday, stop by if you can.

OC'd yesterday evening at Sol de Mexico restaurant on Lakeway and the Pickford cinema. Also at Goat Mountain Pizza (YUMMM!) last week. No issues anywhere and the food was pretty good at Sol de Mexico and really good pizza at Goat Mountain. Had a beer at both places but my gun stayed safe.

I think those are the only new places I've been recently.

Monday, went out for a meal with my Sweet Baboo. A little mexican place by the docks with great food. No worries about the weapon, altho the last time SVG was in there he got a hard time from someone in the bar.

On tge way home we noticed an obviosly impaired gentleman in a dune buggy driving in front of us. It did not take long to find him in the street with his dunebuggy up a pole. He tried to drive away, Lori blocked him as she called 911. He tried to flee, so I followed him and talked him into returning to the vehicle. LEOs showed up and "detained" him. Soon there were half a dozen LEOs and medicals all over. This part is important.......No one person said anything about the weapon and everyone was happy. It is happening folks. We are the new normal, Legally Armed Citizens!!

Mother-in-law down from canada. We will be going to applebys for the evening meal. It is a "family place" so I have always semi-enjoyed it. I have never had any trouble at applebys and have always been warmly welcomed.

Applebys was uneventful, as was the meal.
I was out and about yesterday getting cake donuts to settle Herselfs upset stomach. I stopped by Lafeens, a great donut shop, and picked a few up. A gentleman came in behind me, got nervous, and left right away. A few seconds later a BPD squad came barreling into the parking lot and he came inside. At first I thought I was involved in an MWAG call. He looked at the empty donut rack and said "they're all gone!!" I did not know it was National Donut Day and he was just doing his donut duty. Cool. No comments about the weapon from him, life is getting better for OCers in B'ham.

This is the first I heard of it is there a link?

I have not seen any "links", but it is all over the radio and the posters are positioned strategically to draw Constitution and Gun Rights people.
