• We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.
  • The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.

This won't just keep out the automated hackers, it will drive off the humans.

I suspect one of the posters we banned is trying to hack the site, but this should not be more than a temporary measure, while the hacker is identifies and the law set upon him. I mean we know the names and addresses of most of the suspects!

There's absolutely no reason to require CAPTCHA verification for registered users, and it accomplishes nothing.

Robotic spam is for email. Almost all forum spam comes directly from the fingers of human beings who can type a CAPTCHA code just as easily as they typed in their false ID and registration.

The addition of captcha to posting was in error. I have removed it.
