due to the heat, slowly sauntered to best buy in wilson, where a woman asked a sales associate from across the store where to find a printer ~ they just pointed in the general direction. we unintentionally met in the computer department and apparently due to the blue shirt i was wearing she thought i worked there, that is until her eyes bugged out of her head as she saw my firearm. i helped her find the printer she was looking for and then began walked down the aisles looking for what i stopped for. a BB associate was with a customer, said i'll meet you over at the printers, told the associate, you're too late as this customer helped her quite nicely thanks...

other side of the store got into a nice OC/CC discussion with a very nice young lady (associate)...

off to bed, bath and beyond...had a gentleman follow me close ~ within 6 feet ~ throughout the store to the point i presumed he was suppose to be undercover ~ with a shirt with lime green highlights, ya low key...he followed me out went to a vehicle didn't get in then walked back in the general direction of the store as he saw me get in my vehicle...sigh...

but, heat notwithstanding..as phil would say just another day in OC paradise.

stay cool and hydrated

I've been to a number of different places lately and haven't had any issues, let's see if I can remember most of them...

Goodberry's (of course, at this location there is no inside - we just ordered and then went to the truck to eat in the AC)
Lowe's
Home Depot
Great Clips
Rose's
Wells Fargo on a very crowded Friday afternoon
Walmart, which didn't have the gas cap I needed so I went to...
O'Reilly's where one of the guys there was asking about my pistol and commented that he had a High Point cuz it was cheap. I simply congratulated on him owning a pistol and had heard nothing but good reports about them always going bang when the trigger is pulled.
My dentist's office (not posted in any way and they never said a thing)
And even in this ridiculous heat, I've been riding my motorcycle while OCing through numerous towns, including Cary and straight down through the center of Durham down Duke and Gregson Sts.

OC'ed at Safelite Glass and at Beamer's Auto in High Point today. Nothing was said and only got a quick look at my weapon by a customer when exiting my vehicle to go into Beamer's.

Thanks! I normally CC but lately I've gotten tired of it being in the way when getting in and out of the car.

tactical error this morning as i decided to go to IHOP 'before the church crowd' for breakfast...seems i neglected to remember it was a pseudo holiday and all the families in the world showed up to enjoy breakfast with 'dad' and ensured they arrived 'before the church crowd' did.

besides causing minor consternation coupled w/evil looks from some of the males who were wearing wife beaters and gym shorts (and shouldn't have...geeez) oh, and their flip flops...it was uneventful!!

OC in a Circle K store. As i was at counter paying i heard this women behind with her big ass mouth saying "that guys gotta gun, let me step back so i don't get shot" and she repeatedly kept saying it like she was trying to make a seen, and she was not playing she was dead serious about what she was saying. I just went about paying for my stuff and i walked by her and just looked at her. It really pissed me off and i was just wanting to tell her to ****. Anyone else came across someone like this? if so how did you handle it?

"Yes, please back up. A little further please. A little further. Further still. I can still hear you. ..."

Honestly, I'd say nothing and just let her make a fool of herself.

I have experienced the mentality before and found the manager and calmly asked if they could please ask the person causing a scene to leave because I was beginning to fear for my life from the mob mentality that was developing.

manager looked at me, determined I was serious, and went and talked to the individual whining about my SD firearm, all I heard was a loud ~ well I never, and she and her party left. didn't hurt the individual got mouthy and loud with the manager who was trying to talk calmly to the individual.

manager and I talked, he got a thanks and we continued to chat about OC for about 20 minutes until another store crisis called him away.

such as life in eastern, rural, religious NC...

Most of these I get are just joking. But I do politely, friendly, but firmly counter this. To stop this notion that there is any danger. If you let this nonsense continue it will grow.

As for if management gets involve, they will go after the person with the gun. Look at the HARDEES video on you tube

Out for lunch, got an annual inspection on the F250, and then escorted the wife to the eye doctor for an exam. No issues anywhere; I was really pleasantly surprised that Carolina Eye Associates in Fayetteville was not posted. No eyes were even blinked. While waiting at the doctor's office I had a conversation with a couple about cross country travel and camping. The lady asked if I took a gun with me. I told her that where I could, I did and that it was usually the one on my belt now. She hadn't noticed.

well needed to visit local social security office and lacked the appropriate knowledge if I could OC so left it in the vehicle safe, and went in holster only...nothing on the door, got my ticket next to the huge obese 'security guard' and sat down. a woman walked in with a plastic container of water with the vita mix in and the guard was instantly on her feet hollering nothing but water allowed in the facility!!

apparently my decision to leave my firearm in the safe was perhaps the right one cuz if the guard got that upset over water...I might have really set them off into a tissy.....

bottom line...anybody know if SS facilities is off limits like the PO property?

They aren't quite like USPS in that I've not heard them claiming the sidewalk as property.

BC, thanks for the research...interestingly, the property wasn't marked whatsoever...not even stating no food or drink!

and no, even tho 'h' has a caveat, knowing some might like to see me become a test case and get locked up, i am afraid my gofundme would not be funded so i would remain incarcerated...so i shall heed what BC presented and continue to leave it in the safe while on their property.

shaking my head...standing in customer service line in Wally, heard someone mumble something next to me...eh, i'll ignore it...then the tapping began on my weakside elbow...

'excuse me you killed any snakes with that big gun?' said the silverhaired woman. uh, huh, what?
she repeated her question, quite sincerely. no Ma'ma, i do not use my self defense firearm to kill snakes.
'well i've seen rattlesnakes, moccasins, and...'
thank goodness i got called to the counter right then to be helped. whew
